Terrible Service for High Prices 7/25/2010

I thought I'd try a new neighborhood salon, and after reading all the positive reviews, I went to Charles Elias Salon. NEVER AGAIN. I sat down to get my hair colored, cut, and highlighted at noon. The woman cutting and coloring my hair gave haircuts to THREE other clients while I was in the chair, often waiting for her to return. They threw in some moisturizing treatment for making me wait. Worth the visit. 7/18/2010

I have been going to Charlie Elias for haircuts and color for over fifteen years. I have never been dissapointed in all this time. Ihave also moved to different parts of New York and tried other salons, I always come back to Charlie because of his expertise. At the present time I travel over ninety minutes to get to his new salon, it is well worth the trip becuse you leave with a fabulous haircut every time, can,t say enough good things about this salon. Pros: Excellent, excellent excellent! more

I have been a client of Charlie, the director of the Charles Elias Salon, for over ten years. He is an amazing stylist and color specialist, a man of talent and perfection. Charlie's knowledge and expertise carries throughout the salon's environment and atmosphere. The Salon is beautiful, cozy , clean and staffed with very pleasant and friendly people. You walk out feeling and looking absolutely beautiful! more

An amazing experience! 6/16/2010

My friend referred me to this salon, after many hair blunders. It is not easy to find a salon that does good work for a decent price, but she found it! Charles Elias has a beautiful space, and employs people who really know what they're doing! Even though I moved away from the area, I still go there to do my hair! Definitely recommend! Pros: Comfortable, professional, totally enjoyable experience! more

Charles Elias Salon Review 6/8/2010

I have had such terrible experiences at numerous salons. It seemed as if no one ever knew what they were doing. Right before a friend told me about charles Elias, I got highlights from another salon and the bleach was left on too long. My hair was destroyed! Tarin completely transformed my hair. She is a miracle worker. Little by little, she brought my hair back to what I remembered it to look like. She does an absolutely amazing job and always takes her time with anything she does. I would never go anywhere else. I trust her completely with any service, from treatments to color/highlights and blowouts. I'd never go anywhere else. more

Truly Professional! 6/2/2010

When I first walked into the Charles Elias Salon to see Charlie, my hair was truly a mess! My hair color had been processed incorrectly causing extensive damage. Charlie worked with me, never giving up even for one minute. His patience, expertise, and professionalism helped bring my hair back to a place where I am finally happy. I have been to many salons throughout the years, but I know in my heart I have found my home. Charlie and staff...you are the best! more

I used to hate going to the hairdresser because somehow they always found a way to mess up my hair. Since I started going to Charles Elias Salon in Brooklyn it all changed...Layers and bangs to perfection... by Christina!!! If I would have the $$$ I would go and get my hair done every week :) I am looking forward to my next appointment! Pros: Great Service and decent prices! more

Great Place to relax and get a great cut 5/12/2010

I had a wonderful time visiting Charles Elias Salon. I got a great hair cut from Chad. I could tell from the start that he really knew what he was doing. He listen to whta I told him and followed my directions as to my hair cut. I have curly hair which can be hard to style and cut. I highly recommend Chad and The Charles Elias Salon. Pros: Very warm and friendly staff Cons: I really did not see any more

Best Bay Ridge Hair Salon Experience 5/8/2010

First time visit to this salon and definitely not the last! I had the Coppolla Keratin Smoothing Treatment. My appointment was at 10:30 and I arrived at 10:15 by 10:25 I was already being shampooed. Tarin was my stylist. She was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and professional. She didn't book anyone else and gave me her full attention. Everyone in the salon was friendly and attentive. I'm so glad I decided to to give them a try, wish I had done it sooner. I'm going back for color/highlights. So glad to have found this salon. I've been to many in Bay Ridge and this is by far the best. Pros: knowlegeable staff, friendly, no waiting, down to earth more

Gem of a salon 4/23/2010

My friend introduced me to Tarin, and I am so glad she did! She did a great job ""fixing"" my brassy old highlights from a previous salon. I wasn't just another customer that she wanted to rush out the door. She focused on me, listened to what I wanted, and actually did it. My hair came out great and I got so many compliments. Can't wait to go back for a touchup and cut. more

Best Salon in Bay Ridge 4/22/2010

Charlie has a first rate operation running here. Have had cuts done by Christina, Chad, and Charlie - all fantastic! Love that they carry Bumble & Bumble and always have the products I want in stock. Pros: Immaculate, great location, Bumble & Bumble, good music more

Charlie and his staff are awesome! They all do amazing work and are all really sweet. If you want to look stunning this is the place for you. Charlie is my stylist. He has an incredible talent with styling hair, he does it all. He'll transform you and make you look gorgeous. more

Best Hair Salon in Brooklyn 3/29/2010

i have been a client of Charlies for almost 20 years from when i first moved to Brooklyn from California. i wouldn't go anywhere else. i live in upstate New York and Manhattan now and i travel every 6-8 weeks to Brooklyn for cut and color and blow drying with Charlie. The staff is attentive and excellent. Product is great. Located in the quaint Brooklyn neighborhood of Bayridge. Good restaurants and of Century 21 on 86th street. You will not be disappointed. TRY SOMETHING NEW! 3/26/2010

i have been going to this salon for a longtime, it used to be known as SPIN...its run better now with new ownership. Some of the same great stylists are still there i.e. chad(cut) and jasmine(color), as well as, great new talent to the salon i.e. chrisrtine(cuts n colors) she is awesome and i hesitate to say so because i dont want to have to struggle to get an appointment, but ALL DUE RESPECT, so i cant help but recommend them! hope this helps u...also they always let chico come, my chihuahua, they treat him like a lil prince. Pros: for a current up-to-date look, always trendy. Cons: pricey, not too pricey for the neighborhood,worth it. more

Charlie is the best in the business! 3/7/2010

I have been a client of Charlie for about 15 plus years. I have moved far and away and I always find my way back to him. There is no stylist out there that I have met that can match his skills in styling or coloring. The staff is great and welcoming as well. I can't recommend the Charles Elias Salon enough. Consistent Satisfaction 2/22/2010

I have been following Charlie for the past ten years. It took me about 5 years before I found a stylist who could perfectly color, highlight and cut my hair. Once I found Charlie, I've stuck to him for the past 10 years and wouldn't dream of letting anyone else touch my hair. How often can you sit in a chair and tell your stylist, ""Do what you want.. I trust you."" Each time it is consistent satisfaction, providing me with a hair style that works for my personality, my career, and keeps me with the trends. I wouldn't recommend going to any other salon other than Charles Elias Salon! more
