Champa Thai at Kailua is located on Kuulei Road, across from Kailua Elementary. Parking is limited to a few stalls in front of the restaurant and street parking.
My favorite dishes are the rice noodles with black bean sauce, as well as the spicy fish. Compared to the other Thai restaurant in Kailua, Saengs, Champa Thai seems to use more spices. Personally, I prefer Champa Thai’s spicier dishes to Saengs more sweet-sour approach.
It’s too bad the air conditioning in the restaurant is weak, at best. They do have two portable air conditioning units, but they are ineffective unless you’re sitting directly in front of them. Also, service can crawl at times during the peak dinner hour.
