Cedar Point is the place to go during the summer for my family and friends. It really makes an otherwise boring day beyond fun.

Off season at Cedar Point 9/25/2006

We went a few years ago in september for our first wedding anniversary. We had such a blast and I actually rode all the roller coasters in one day. YES FOLKS, one day (but at the end we had blisters on our feet...lol). What was so great about going at that time, about a month or two before going, I looked online for different deals to cedar point. What I found was a nice room right there at Cedar Point Resort for something like $98 a night. Included in the room price were 2 tickets into Cedar Point and being able to enter the park a half hour before general admission. It was great to ride the new ride (millenium force at that time) about 5 times in a half hour time period. So, if we were to have paid for the tickets ourselves, we would only have paid about 50-60 bucks a night for the room right at cedar point. No parking fees, I could go out and return to the park at any time. No standing in lines to enter the park. It was a totally awesome experience. I hear that at Haloween they really deck things out spooky and would love to take our kids there some day during the haloween season. more

Cedar Point 8/21/2006

This is a great park with lots of thrill rides. It's never the same park twice, they are always adding rides and taking down the really old ones. And it's such a big park, if you just go for a day, there's no way you'll ride them all. It's also great for families as they have a childrens park and plenty of children friendly rides. The only drawback is the long lines. It's a popular theme park for the mid-west and there are always long lines. You'll spend more time in line than on rides. But I will give them credit, they try to put tents over the lines so you aren't waiting in the sun, and sometimes they are selling drinks right there. And honestly, they do keep it moving. There's no fudging when it's your turn. Get in and get going. You won't regret it, but if you have the time and money, I'd go for a few days and not just the one. more

Thrills, Chills, And Excitement, for a Bargain Price 8/10/2006

One of my absolute favorite places in the world is Cedar Point, located in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point is an amusement park, which started out over 100 years ago as a public beach, or watering hole, as they were called. Through the years, Cedar Point has evolved, and at one point during the Great Depression, devolved. But all of those years brought us what Cedar Point is today: The BEST Roller Coaster Park ANYWHERE. For several years now, CP has been voted #1 in many categories for amusement parks: best rides, best coasters, best park, etc. The park is clean, for starters. Many employees walk around cleaning up trash they find, and there are trash cans every 10-15 feet or so. The coasters are awesome, with many record breaking coasters in the park. They also have a few older, less impressive coasters, which still have their fans. With 16 coasters, and a possible 17th under construction currently, this park draws coaster fanatics from around the world. People will travel from all over just to have a chance to conquer the Millenium Force, a mammoth steel coaster which decorates the skyline of CP, or Top Thrill Dragster, the tallest coaster of it's kind, with a 400 foot drop at nearly a straight drop. There are even 2 roller coasters made just for kids, Woodstock Express, and the Jr. Gemini. This park deserves at least a week long trip to explore all the nooks and crannies fully, but even just 1 solid 12 or 13 hour day will do it. If you live anywhere near it, or in a bordering state, I HIGHLY recommend going for a day or two. more

easily the best 7/31/2006

six flags magic mountain, the main competitor, does not compare with this place. its way cleaner, more beautiful scene, and rides are better. Long story short, there is no better amusement park in the world. hands down! more

Cedar Point 5/18/2006

Cedar point is one of the World's best Amusement parks. They have a lot of Roller coasters, kiddie rides, thrill rides, Soak city water rides, and traditional rides like the steam locomotive, ferris wheel and carousel. They have rides for everyone. They also have a whole section built especially for young kids. They have also have excellent shows, they have an aquarium, snoopy on ice ( we especially enjoyed these professional skaters). The ticket are really not that expensive when you consider that it covers all rides, and shows. They also have a picnic area where you can leave your cooler on a picnic table waiting for you. My four kids did not have one moment of boredom here. more

Rollercoasters! 4/14/2006

Cedar Point is a great theme park for rollercoaster lovers. It boasts several coasters that have been the longest-fastest-tallest over the years. They have a email newsletter that sometimes offers discounted tickets, especially towards the end of the season when the kids have gone back to school. Lines are usually long in summer, but the waits aren't too bad, and it's worth it for the rides. more

Cedar Point 2/26/2006

If you are a coaster enthusiast, it'll be hard to find a better theme park than Cedar Point. With its 10+ coasters and picturesque location on the lake, Cedar Point is a popular vacation destination. During my last trip there, lines were long for popular coasters, and we spent most of our day in line. Still, if you are seeking the fastest and steepest drops, Cedar Point is a great destination. more

Roller Coaster Lovers 2/17/2006

The best roller coaster park in the United States. If you aren't into them, stay at the beach resorts by the pools. the other rides in the park are probably 10 % of the park. Coasters are the king here. Lodging is just a shuttle ride away right inside of the park. We loved the pools there. My daughter even talked me into riding one of the fastest coasters (at the time) in the park. Fantastic. It seems every year they add in a newer, faster coaster to ride. Everyone must visit this park at least once. more

A Great Park for Coaster Enthusiasts 2/16/2006

Cedar Point is for coaster nuts. Period. While CP prides itself on various themed areas, impressive children's rides, and family-friendly theatrical shows, let's face it-- people who pay the steep admission want roller coasters. I've been to this park on numerous occasions and have yet to be disappointed. It's not Disney World, as one reviewer commented, but I didn't expect it to be, just as I don't expect world-class thrill rides at Epcot Center. Cedar Point excels in what it attempts-- to showcase the world's fastest, steepest, and most thrilling coasters around. My biggest complaint with this park is the crowds, something that the staff can only do so much about. Lines here get LONG, so I would suggest that weekdays are your best bet. If you're looking for a fantastic roller coaster experience, Cedar Point won't disappoint! more

The BEST amusement park! 12/28/2005

This is one of the most giant amusement parks you've ever been to. They add a bigger and better roller coaster every year and last I knew, they had the world's highest and/or fastest roller coaster. You can literally spend days on the island. There are also several hotels (though not the nicest quality) as well as campsites on the island. Admission isn't cheap, but you will definitely get what you pay for. The lines can be long, but they do a great job of entertaining you with DJ's and sprinklers in the hot summer heat. There are several things to do indoors as well and a water park. Little children will love the Berenstein Bears forest. Lots to do and a lot of fun for the entire family! more

Americas Rollercoast! 11/5/2005

Cedar Point is the best amusement park! If you love roller coasters..than you will be in heaven. The coasters keep getting better and better every year! I prefer to visit the park right when it opens in May and then I like to go one of the last weekends it is open. You will not experience long lines at all. You can expect to be comfortable without the heat and big crowds. more

Great time! 10/14/2005

Cedar Point is a wonderful amusement park with tons of exciting rides, great amusement park food, games, and other attractions. Admission is a little over $40 for a pass that lasts you all day. The last time I went to CP, I loved riding on the Demon Drop. It isn't as frightening as one might think. A little pricey, but Cedar Point is well worth it. They also have a nice water park. more

Great Fun 9/29/2005

You need more than 1 day to see and do everything that Cedar Point offers. Even a place for the littler ones to be able to play. So many roller coasters that you miss some the first time around the park. Lots of fun to be had. more

AWESOME! :) 9/29/2005

A great park! People actually wear their shirts here, it's amazing and much appreciated. Roller coasters are top notch, don't pass up Top Thrill Dragster! I could spend all day riding in this park and not get tired or bored. Many options for a decent sit down lunch in an air-conditioned restaurant. Actually, who cares if the food is good or not, the place is air-conditioned and you get to sit down for a bit. more

The Best, Hands Down 9/28/2005

I absolutely love this park. There are so many roller coasters, you can spend the entire day riding and not get bored. The lines are not too horrendous, unless you insist on going on the new ride in the middle of the day. Every year, they add something new. I like the fact that there is no special tie-in at this park. There are no Micky Mouses or Nickelodeon characters prancing around. Just amusement park fun. more

entertainment 9/6/2005

I love the live shows, the rides, and most of the food, but I live locally, and feel that Cedar Point's focus is about making money, and not what is best for the customers. They did away with senior discounts. These are people who love to go, walk around, and enjoy the atmosphere, but do not always have the funds to do so, and especially now. Just recently I heard that they are going to have a discount toward the end of this season. Why did it take so long? And why no straws or lids? How ridiculous. You pay an arm and a leg for everything (food, drinks, merchandise, etc) and you don't get the whole package. I also think that more focus needs to be placed on the bathrooms. I recently went to Disney, and it is like night and day, the difference in the cleanliness of the two. more

As advertised, the best on the planet 8/22/2005

Cedar Point's ad slogan "the best coasters on the planet" sums it all up: this is the best place to go for a coaster fix. Every year the park adds new attractions (we haven't had the pleasure of trying out this year's addition, MaxAir. but it looks spectacular) and there are more coasters than you can do justice to in a single day. Plenty of other attractions for little kids as well and a great water park (but for an additional cost). more

A fantastic amusement park - with the most rides 8/22/2005

I know people from all over who travel to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. It is after all, the Roller Coaster Capitol of the World! They have Blue Streak, Magnum, Wicked Twister, Gemini, Mantis and so much more. They have a great kid’s section and water park as well (Water park cost additional money). One problem I have is the $45 per person admission charge adn $9 parking which makes it $189 for a family of 4 to park and enter the park. How can you enjoy your day knowing you've sunk that amount of money in that visit anyhow? more

Awesome old fashioned park 8/21/2005

Cedar point mixes the old amusement park feeling with new up to date rides. They add one ground breaking ride every year it seems. Compare to most parks they lack in themes and go for the quantity over quality approach. They have tons of roller coasters, but only a few are worth riding. Nevertheless, the park is still great and I love it. The ticket prices are worth it and I suggest going during Halloweekends if you don't mind the cold. more
