Worst Investment Ever 12/18/2010

I would tell anyone considering using their service this: You can literally do everything they are doing yourself. Here is what they do... First they will listen to you, they will pay close attention to what you are looking for and where you want to go. They will then tell you how they are tailored to suit people just like you, they will even craft their response to suit what you just told them. Then you will fork over a chunk of your hard earned money, and fill out a 26 page job application. Then you will meet with one of their career advisors and they will show you a power point presentation that is ""customized for you"". In reality it seems like they just change the name on the title page, cut and paste some stuff from your application, and then call it good. They will then hand you a long listing of companies, most of which don't necessarily have jobs available. They will ask you to highlight the companies you are interested in working for. They are in industries you expressed an interest in when you filled out the application. Then what they do is print up resumes and cover letters addressed to the theoretical decision makers in those companies. Every two weeks they will give you about 20 of them. You send them out wait a couple days, call them and follow up. IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.... You can look up SIC codes yourself, find out who works in HR, and print resumes yourself. Now let me tell you about my personal experience with these people... The girl I was working with either got fired or laid off, either way I didn't hear from anyone for 3 weeks. It wasn't until I contacted Brian (The CEO) that I even got that information. Then they send me over to Roger who is a very friendly and personable guy, generally seemed like a good person. He apologized and said that Derwin would be taking care of me from then on. I said okay, I understand that these things happen. I explained that I was unhappy with how things were going and the general lack of response on their part. I was told that wouldn't happen again and they would hold up their end. I got one packet from them. Then didn't hear from them for 3 weeks. I called and was pretty agitated, they said oh we're sorry. Roger said he would personally take care of my case. Roger had made a positive impression on me so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I said I was unhappy with my resume and wanted to rework it. He said he would..... 3 weeks later I get a ""Rough draft"". Nearly every member of their staff failed to provide even a basic level of customer service. I said I wanted a partial refund, they said no, as the way the contract is worded no matter how unhappy you are with their work all they will do is keep redoing it. They will do it over and over, with consistently poor quality, but never will they refund your money. more

Professional Assistance is Helpful 2/5/2009

I visited with many employment firms is Phoenix while conducting my job search. Most of them were centered on seminars and testing, plus direction on how I should do my own research. CDR presented a different approach that made sense to me. I reviewed the letters that are displayed on this site and felt comfortable that this was an active approach versus the other more theoretical approaches. Cost vs Results is very questionable; Would not recommend 1/21/2009

I would not recommend this company. It was a poor decision on my part after I thought I had done adequate research. Initially, what I was told by sales/marketing was not delivered by operations. My chosen field is financial services which is a tough market today, yet, I found the overall effort to be quite minimal until I challenged it and then and only then was additional effort put forth. I gave 110%+ along with a hefty fee and got basically nothing to show for the efforts. This was not a hasty decision either, it came after a long period ot time and frustration. My efforts indepedent of the mailings got better results and more interviews than this service. Be very careful when signing on here and make sure that you interview with your counselor along with person doing the sales pitch. After the fact, and they have your money; you are bound. Pros: Administrative staff was very nice; helpful Cons: Cost vs effort; Sales overstated abilities of counselors more

Tony, Oxford Life is really working out well. They are in the process of really upgrading their personnel, and I guess in some ways, I am spearheading it. The job is fun, and I am being given a lot of freedom in the way I work and get things done. I would rather speak with folks that would like me to talk to. I feel very strongly about how well your system works. Having gone thru previous job searches where I was forced to use the old techniques, your process is a lot smarter and results are achieved a lot faster. I remember Brian telling me that it could take me 2-6 months, and we did it in 2. That said, feel free to have people call me or if you wish, I can call them when I have a chance.
