    What is a bail bond?-A bail bond is a payment made to the courts that allows a person that's been arrested to leave jail until trial.


    What information do I need to give to my bail bondsman get someone out of jail?-We will need to know the arrestees name,the jail location in which they are being held,the bond amount,the alleged crime committed.


    How long does it take to get out of jail?-The jail release time varies from about an hour to four hours depending on how busy the facility is that's holding your loved one.


    How much does it costs to post bond?-When hiring a bail agent in Virginia,expect to pay a premium of 10% of the total bail amount. This fee is set by the state of Virginia. For example if your bail bond is set at $1,000 then your premium payment to the bondsman would be $100.


    Will I get my premium back?-No,bail premiums are kept by the bail bondsman


    Can I do a cash bond myself?-This depends upon the charge,and sometimes the jurisdiction. If you are looking to pay the cash bond,expect to pay the bail in full. In most cases however,you will need to use a bail bond agency.


    What is collateral?-Collateral is used by the bail bond agency to secure the bond.


    What happens if a person misses their court date?-Contact your bail bond company immediately.
