Casey's Sports Bar & Grille

I believe that I was in attendance the same night as MCarpenter above. Myself, my wife Babette, and our dear friends Eleanor and Cole drove to Hilton Head from Panama City Beach for a leisurely week at the beach. We, too, love karaoke and decided to try out Casey's. We were disappointed to witness what can only be described as troll like behavior from the karaoke host. She obviously did not like her job and chose to take out her employment frustrations on the patrons of the bar. Everyone was in great spirits but she managed to bring the party down by refusing to let the most entertaining audience members sing their songs because they had been up too much. Well Eeyore, if no one else is signing up to sing, why not let these people keep going? They were a HOOT! I haven't seen Eleanor laugh like that since '96. Each year, my friends and I take a girls trip and singing kraraoke is a tradition. Casey's is the only place we could find on the island that had karaoke for the nights we were in town. I am writing this to hopfeully stop those who like to sing karaoke for fun, from a night of disappointment. The female who serves as the karaoke dj (she brings her own equipment) was extremely rude. She began removing our names from the list, calling our names then changing her mind once we got up there and call someone else, tell other ""karaokers"" negative things about us, and even cuss us out when we asked what was going on. We were honestly nice, grown women looking for a fun night of karaoke. When there are only 1 or 2 other people who want to sing, what is wrong with letting us sing more than twice? We complained to the bartenders, and each one told us this was not the first time they heard our complaints regarding her. There was one other place that had karaoke, but we were not there for that particular night of the week. I wish I could tell you the ""traveling karaoke dj"" would not be there, but it is worth a shot! I recommend playing it safe and avoiding Casey's! Have a great vacation! We were visiting from Michigan for my Father's 80th birthday. The whole family wanted to go somewhere to watch the MSU Spartans play in the final 4. We arrived 2 hours before the game and were the first customers of the day. Our 4 children (the youngest 15) were at a table of their own. While we were watching the game the owner came over to their table and asked them to stand up. When they did, he kicked them out, and gave the table to some adults who were waiting for an available table. When I complained that we had been there for 3 hours and had already spent a lot of money he had the bartender tell me I had to leave also. He was not even man enough to discuss this with me in person. There is evidently a table cover charge or drink minimum that I did not know about. If I had I would gladly payed him his ransom. This was an important night for our family, and he ruined it. The wait staff and bartender were clearly embarrassed by his behavior. I would discourage any one from going to Casey's sports bar.
