Casal Aveda Institute

We had 7 ladies for our annual spa day Sat 3/5. Two of them wanted to add a facial with the mani/pedi instead of the hair wash/style. I called ahead and was told IT WOULD BE NO PROBLEM but it was necessary that we arrive by 12:45 for a 1:oo start of services, which we all did, yet OUR SERVICES DIDNT START UNTIL 2:00. Apparently No advance arrangements were made for us. When we arrived and said 2 of us were having facials they made it happen but only after soooo many sighs and much attitude from the fellow at the desk and the spa supervisor that it made us feel very embarrassed and very unwelcomed. In the end We were the last 3 people in the building, we didnt get to enjoy the food we brought, there was no time for the mani/pedi just polish change and I walked back into the spa only to walk in to hear (not assume I heard, but I heard) the supervisor talking to 3 Students about us. We understand that this is a school and the sudents are learning, with that being said the STUDENTS that performed our services were great. We really enjoyed THEIR company. The interaction between ourselves, the desk and the spa supv made us feel like we were being an inconvience to them. I am very disappointed in our experience. Unfortunatley this will be my last spa experience with you. more

I received a complimentary Ivarti treatment. I have had a problem with my hair thinning due to age, medication and heredity. The treatment was wonderful. The professional that gave it to me did a good job. She explained how the treatment works and how to apply it at home. I purchased the entire product line and am hoping for the best. more

Saturday when I was their my girl was wounderful but they turned the wax off and I did not get my eye browls done. It was 4:45 pm. 4 weeks I had a student that kept me in the chair for 6 hours, not kiddling. The instructor was over many times and finally I said this is enough. I had to come back the next day and the instructor redid part of my hair and my eyebrowls. more

Just received a full leg wax for an incredibly reasonable price! I've been to the school 3 times before this and have always had a great experience. the students are professional and thorough in the work that they do. more

Unfortunately, this was one of my worst experiences at Casals ever. This has been at least the third time that the hot water was completely out. getting your hair washed in ice cold water is not very enjoyable. Then there was not one clean towel, so we had to wait for that. Never offered the facial, hand or back massage. The student did a nice job on my hair color, however, she spent at least 15-20 min on her own hair, while I was under the dryer. I actually came out and had her check it becase I thought she forgot about me. To this she was not very happy. Personally, I feel that the environment has drastically decreased over the past few years. Students on cell phones, in and out smoking, etc. sorry, the price is nice, but not worth the hassle. more

the receptionist from january didn't have me in the computer for a haircut and i almost wasn't allowed one..the supervisor came over and said i had to reschedule but luckily the permanent that was waiting was given to another unbusy student. therefore they "allowed" me to get a haircut- receptionists should more clearly listen to patrons and when a f/u is emailed it should clearly state what you are confirming- this has not been my experience- there is also no where to confirm and question it. this is also my 1st computerized feedback- i hope it goes to the ceo- better communication with the stylists is also needed- no one ever checks with them and they get "rushed"- the girl i got yesterday doesn't graduate until august 2012 and she is still slower- she did a very good job, however, and i love my new cut! more

What a terrible experience both me and my mom had! First off, when I scheduled, I scheduled a haircut for both of us, but we were told we did not schedule one and that we could not get a hairvut! I was chased out of my chair, when a cut wouldve took, what 5 minutes?! Was told another client was waiting, well I also had a appt and had to wait almost 45 minutes, so why couldnt that client wait?! I was never given a slip or a survey to cash out with, so it was pretty much a guessing game! My moms stylist was very ignorant, drenched my moms whole back, including her shirt and all, never offered my mom any other services. My mom said that she doesnt think she wanted to be there! My stylist was ok, but I still cant get over the fact of why I couldnt get a cut! She blamed the front desk girls and said they always dont out everything down of what is needed! It was even a instructor that chased me from the chair! I dont know that we will be back after yesterdays experience! more

Kinsey was fantastic! Not only was she friendly and helpful, she gave me a great haircut. I will definetely be back again soon. more

My girlfriend and I each went for our first facial. It was a glorious experience for each of us. What I thought would be a "glorified mini-facial", was, infact, an oustanding service that went beyond all my expectations! This was a relaxing, almost complete massage, along with a meticulous, customized facial. Everyone needs to give this a try! A complete make-up service also included when you're done! I will be back for this! more

I recently had a "new style" perm done at casal that was taught by an instructor specializing in blonde. My stylist wound it in a figure 8 over 2 perm rods. It was the 1st perm that i have had in 20 years! love it. It is the beach look and it is so easy. I recommend to all more
