One of the problems with karaoke in Denver is that it's usually a flat out bar scene. What is wonderful about Casa Vallarta is that it offers karaoke for families in a setting that is not only bar food. Mind you, there is drinking (it's a Mexican restaurant after all), but there is a separate bar for the hardcare drinkers. Usually in the karaoke room, it is a mix of families and groups of folks who (often want to drink) but are there to have a good time and sing. There is a dance floor which is usually used for group dancing (a la the Casper Slide, electric slide, and newer dances, too). \r
The food is good -- better than On the Border -- but not great. Definitely order the shrimp fajitas, delcious. However, the one thing about being in the karaoke room is that they charge for drink refills! The bar room or restaurant room does not charge for drink refills, though.\r
If you have kids or even just enjoy karaoke, it's a non-threatening, fun place to go singing. :-) See ya there!
Pros: Karaoke room, family-friendly, good dj's, fun atmosphere.
Cons: Often absolutely packed on Friday night. Reservations for the karaoke room a must!
