I've had some bad experiences with plumbers, and it can be expensive even with a good one. I thought that Cary Plumbing was very fair in their pricing and I thought their man did a good job. I can confidently recommend their service. more

Great service 12/29/2012

I Have used Cary Plumbing for any plumbing need I have, since my Realtor recommended them when I moved to the area. They are always fair with me, but today was the best example yet. They came by to check out a problem I had with my sink, only it was NOT a problem and nothing was actually broken. Instead of getting me for a trip charge or anything of the ilk, they shook my hand and walked out the door. more

I've used Cary Plumbing for about 6 years now. They are always on time, professional, courteous and above all (in my book) reasonable. I would highly recommend them. more

I just had my re-pipe done by Cary Plumbing and was initially very nervous because of all the bad reviews here. That being said, I really needed a turn-key operation and a company that would do Pex... so I was left with few other options and crossed my fingers. It has been two weeks since the repipe and so it may be a bit early to comment on the long-haul workmanship, but everything about the service was professional, polite, and prompt. The service was excellent; they answered any question I had; it was really quick (less than two days); there was no gapping - torn holes in the wall - just surgical cut outs in only a few spots; they were very careful about leaving the house just as they found it;; and the price was really fair for an extra hose bib (just $100). When I noticed a minor leak in the toilet after the repipe, the guys fixed it without extra charge or hemming or hawing, and even replaced the internal flush mechanism. That was great that I didn't have to wrestle with them on that! Although the guy doing the dry wall did not come until a day or two after the repipe because of a scheduling conflict... when he did come, he did an incredible job and while he waited for the drywall to dry... he helped me find my property line which I was doing at the time. Gone are the days when someone will go beyond the call of duty...How nice is that! more

Awful customer service. 5/4/2012

CAUTION!!! Do not do business with this company. The owner does not stand behind the business deals they make. They sent a tech (if that is what you could call him) to set two toilets. Well apparently they go by the motto ""if ain't done twice it ain't done right"". After the second try the upstairs toilet ended up leaking and causing pretty major damage to the room below. After agreeing that we would cover the cost for the plumbing repair and they would take care of any sheetrock repair we thought okay this isn't too bad....until they went back on their word and we had to take care of everything ourselves. So in hindsight I wish I had read the reviews. Stay away from this company at all costs. The owner James has no integrity. For a company that is in the service industry they sure don't take care of their customers. more

Not Reliable 12/8/2011

I took off work to meet a plumber in a 2 hour time period. Thirty minutes after the time period expired I called the company. They didn't have any record of my order and said they were now all booked up and would need to reschedule for another day. While I was on hold (it was obvious they were disorganized as I told what I wanted and when I called to several different people) I saw the other comments here and decided that there is a pattern of disorganization and so I've called another company who will come out tonight with a $50 extra charge. $50 is a lot cheaper than me taking another day off of work. I can't speak to the quality of the plumbers. It seems like the problem is the dispatch service and I wouldn't normally give a poor review for what might have been an honest mistake, but it seems like this company has a problem with these mistakes. more

avoid! dishonest 11/1/2011

I hired Cary Plumbing to move the shut-off valve from the crawl space to the kitchen pantry where it's more accessible. Also to check the hot water heater, as it was leaking. Plumber said hot water heater was fine, and that he fixed it, and he moved the shut off valve. Was told he would be there between 8am and 10am, and I made it clear I had a meeting at 10am - so he had to be here and gone by then. He showed up at 9:45am. Since I had an appointment, I left him at the house with my cell phone number. While out he called and asked to use my bathroom. Of course I said fine. I arrived at the house where he informed me it was a good thing I had spray on the back of the toilet to take care of the smell, and then he explained he has a condition where he 'explodes' in the bathroom.. (Gross and TMI!!!) more

Great plumbers, excellent service 9/26/2011

I have been a customer of Cary Plumbing for over 20 years and couldn't be more satisfied. They fix my plumbing issues right the first time. They also do the little things like explain how to prevent a similar problem in the future. And neat.... they even take their shoes off when they come in the house! more

Burned Again! 7/9/2011

We initially called Roto-Rooter since had been Over-charged by Cary Plumbing about 2 years ago (they were here 1 hour and 10 minutes and charged a full 2 hours labor).\r \r But, after having Roto-Rooter from Raleigh come out and tell us it's going to cost $700 (just labor), to install a new tap in the water line for our New Frigerator, and install two new toilets that we had already purchased... we sent them packing and called Cary Plumbing to do the water line tap and a quick repair (20 minutes on one of the toilets my Father-in-Law installed in 45 minutes.\r \r Cary Plumbing had quoted my Wife $97 hour labor. They arrived at about 4:15, finished at 5:35. The plumber had a Hispanic helper with him, which we found out After the Fact, brought the labor rate up to $129 per hour!\r \r The final bill for a 20 -25 minute toilet repair and the water line tap...$311 - - IT TAKES ME 2-1/2 DAYS TO EARN $311 !!! ....Seriously folks! Is there a Plumbing Company in the area that does NOT Rip People Of more

Is there a Plumbing Company in the area that does NOT Rip People Off? Oh yea, that price included about $50 in parts, one of which was a Spud Gasket for which they charged us $10, and I just found the same Gasket at Lowes for $1.95! more

Not such a great company. 3/11/2011

Not impressed with them at all. Took 2 days to get my quote for plumbing work after they came out to do an estimate. Sadly I had to track them down to even get this information. They ended up not taking the job because of some lame excuse but promised to send me some referrals to other plumbers they knew and i'm still waiting on those. I would not deal with this company again. more

Tankless Titan 1/8/2010

Cary Plumbing Co. is top notch. Our water heater was in the attic and decided to start leaking while we were away on vacation. We called Cary Plumbing when we found the mess and they came out immediately. The technician who came out (Brad) disconnected the heater in the attic and drained it to stop the leak. He gave us all of our options for replacing the heater including the installation of a tankless water heater. We called several other companies to get estimates. NONE of them knew as much about the tankless water heater as Brad. He explained every detail about how it worked and what to expect from it. He was up front with us on everything. It didn't feel like he was trying to 'push' tankless at us, but we felt comfortable in choosing it after speaking with him. They were not the cheapest, but they were certainly not the most expensive. We got excellent service at a fair price. Brad installed the new heater the next day and it looks great. Couldn't be more happy with the service. If more

Brillant / would use again 10/8/2009

We had a blocked pipe last sat night - we thought your service was just excellent Michael Waite was a delight to have , he was so pleasant and fixed the problem so cheerfully - I would highly recommend him , he was just great - \r Many thanks and now the pipe is better than ever more

Cary Plumbing Co is lousy 9/9/2009

I would not use Cary Plumbing ever again. I had a problem with my kitchen faucet, which I had already taken apart before the Cary Plumbing technician showed up. The faucet only needed a couple of replacement o-rings. When the technician got there, he was only interested in selling me a new faucet, which I refused. Finally, he got the necessary o-rings, but he could not reassemble the faucet correctly. On top of that, he screwed two the plastic pieces together so tightly that he could not get them undone. At which point he charged me for his services and left. I had to get the pieces apart and reassemble the faucet. Steer clear of this company. more

Terrible....completely incompetent; tried to overcharged for service 2/18/2009

Without going into the details all that I can say is that I tried them once (should have read these reviews first) and will never use them again. End of story. \r \r I can't believe how incompetent they were and they don't have any sense of quality.\r \r \r Amazing!!! more
