My daughter attended Carmel Valley Montessori School for almost 2 school years. During that period of time, I served as Chairman/President of the Parent Advisory Board, so I was involved and supportive of the school. My daughter had a wonderful experience her first year with Ms Killinger. Ms Killinger has taught for decades and was great at teaching new and advanced topics while making it fun. However, my daughter's experience the next year was VERY different. Her teacher, Ms Lisa Kaufman, seems to have much less of a focus on academics. Other parents share my opinion that their children have actually regressed in her classroom. Furthermore, my daughter fell on the playground and came home with a scraped knee and a fat lip. I never received a call or an injury report, because her teachers didn't see it (or the resulting fat lip and fresh scabs)! I believe that the inattention carries over from the classroom to the playground.
