Renters beware!!! They keep part of your deposit your lease carefully before you sign it. Then they drum up fake charges to take the rest. ""the walk thru"" I was told everything looked great and then 2 months later I am told I didnt get all of my deposit because the room needed painted. The kicker- he accused me of shutting the door to hide the stickers on the wall in my daughters room. I guess I had to lead him by the hand to walk everywhere! They accuse you of hiding the damage to try to justify the theft. Please rent from this company with caution. Terrible!! When I told him I was going to add to their bad reviews on the web he was like SO WHAT! Wow...great company! more

Great House 12/10/2009

I have lived in many apartment complexes in Knoxville. Cardinal blows them all away! They rent houses in West Knoxville that are better than an apartment and at a better price. I saw some people say that they had an issue with maintenance. I had a great experience. The maintenance guy was very nice and took care of it right away. That is saying alot due to the fact that I caused the problem in the first place. I would recommend Cardinal to anyone! Pros: WAAAAAY Better than any apartment in Knoxville! more

This company seems to specialize in renting houses instead of apartments and its been great for us. We had issues with our last two apartments because of our dog, but now we rent a home which is very nice and we don't have neighbors complaining because we do not share a wall with anyone else. I haven't had any issues with the 2 bedroom townhome I rent but I couldve found a three bedroom apartment for the price. Pros: big bedrooms Cons: not enough bedrooms more

Rude Rude Rude!!! 11/21/2008

My husband and I started renting with this company in 2006. The lady who was helping us was a delight to work with well needless to say she is no longer with the company! Any who...after our lease was up we decided to find something bigger and that had a fenced in yard for our dogs. The lady realtor called us about a month before we moved and told us she had the perfect place for us on the other side of town. She gave me the address so I could check it out and well...I fell in love with it! This house was breath taking...3000 sq. ft, 4 bed/ 2 1/2 bath, large living room and huge fenced in yard. The realtor actually was so sweet she let us move in a month early. We had a centipede problem but they fixed it for us. She was just a delight to work with. We lived in this huge house for a year and loved it so much we signed another year lease. A couple days after we signed the lease my husband was told that he was going to be transferred out of state for his job. So we called Cardinal and asked to speak to the ""sweet"" lady and then we found out she left the company and that this new guy ""hell boy"" was the new realtor. We told him about what happened and was hoping that he would work with us since we just turned our lease papers in 2 days before this whole thing. His response was NO! He said that we signed those papers and now we have to pay for a whole year. He said when you buy a house you just can't turn around the next day and change your mind. I said yes I know that...that's why we RENT!!! So of course we had to move and this mf put us through hell every single day. We had to get our lawyers involved and everything. We finally came to an agreement that we would give him $1200 to shut him up. Oh I was so upset! I just couldn?t get over it. He said he wasn?t letting us out of the lease b/c he had 4 other houses in the same neighborhood that were vacant. So I guess that was our problem. I will never lease from this company again!!! Still waiting for security deposit refund!!! 10/29/2008

We moved out almost 2 months ago and still have not received our security deposit even though we left the place in good condition. No surprise since they hardly ever addressed any maintenance issues while we were tenants. We can't even get someone on the phone who knows anything about our previous condo. Frustrating! Completely ignores tenants!!! 4/23/2008

We have lived here for almost two years and have not had a single maintenance issue resolved. We have contacted Cardinal Enterprises several times by phone and in writing regarding problems with plumbing and insects. We have even spoken to employees face-to-face about these problems. To date, nothing has been done to address our complaints. I DO NOT recommend renting from this company. Although our condo is nice, it is overpriced (and keeps increasing!), neighborhood fees are high, and the Cardinal employees are lazy and rude. Avoid at all costs 12/17/2007

My husband and I have had a horrible experience with this company. First of all it takes an act of congress to get them to return your calls, and if they do it will do absolutely no good because they do not plan on ever taking care of any maintenance issues that you may have with their properties. Also, if you do actually get to speak to someone, you will receive rude comments. We have had an insect problem with our rental property and have never received a return phone call regarding this issue after a period of 3 months. We would definitely not recommend this management company to anyone not even an enemy. Pros: Their properties are located in good areas. Cons: No customer service skills. more

By Far the WORST Company I've Ever Delt With... 8/28/2007

They do not care about the upkeep of the units or the satisfaction of their customers. On the rare occasion they do maintenance, it takes them a minimum of 9 months to bother taking an interest enough to get it done. We have been calling for over a year regarding the same general maintenance problem...still not done. Several of the neighbors have been calling to have the over-filled gutters cleaned for 9 months...still not done. We have also been calling to complain about an ant problem...nothing is being done about it, aside from unreturned phone calls and rude remarks. We pay far too much in rent for this kind of negligence and treatment. I, and my neighbors, DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!!! Pros: Great Location, Like the Layout, Allows Pets Cons: High Rent, No Interest in providing ANY Maintenance, Poor Customer Services more
