I have brought my work trucks and personal cars to Car-X for years. In every case their recommendations for what brand of tires and their prices are always great. No need to shop around. They also have done the brakes on my Mercedes saving me some serious $ compared to the dealer. They are car guys and know their stuff. They get pretty busy so an early drop off is recommended. more

This is the same company as the one on Huebner. Read those reviews too! Too bad I can't rate zero. This place doesn't even deserve one start. Worst experience EVER. My car was pulling slightly to the left. Took it there and left with the car pulling A LOT to the left. Since it was closing time, I called the next day. They did not have a service where then can come a pick up my car and take responsibility for their job badly done, so I have to go back again and waste another 1.5 hours . Because of work, I went late again (1.5 hours before closing time) so the guy there ""couldn't do anything"" for me because the manager leaves at 4. He also said they didn't have enough time to do the alignment again before closing (put the car in the computer for 1.5 hours is not enough?). They ended up saying they would look at it so I left and when I came back they say it's been fixed (less that 40 minutes). I was pulling to the left so the swap the tires and it's now pulling to the right. That was their fix! They refuse to reimburse me or do the wheel alignment again, and they won't even understand that it was pulling probably 5 degrees before taking it there but 45 degrees now. They didn't let me finish my sentences and the guy started saying he was a certified advisor and that I should educate myself and come back and apologize to him! Unbelievable! He also had a lot of back and forward about ""I just called my manger and he said this and that"" and ""my manager is not available"" depending on the situation. Now reading all other reviews I see that they do the same thing over and over! This place must be closed. They belong to some kind of organization that I need to find out about and have them close down this place. Pros: NONE! Cons: They lie, the steal, and they don?t have the skills more

Car X on Nacogdoches Rd. Took in 1997 Ford Ranger to fix clutch. Car had to be hauled in. Husband (age 82) had previously had them do some work on his car. After diagnostic they quoted him a price of $1,288 repairs related to cluth repair: pressure plate, turning fly wheel, clutch throw out bearing, transmission, labor. I told him I thought that was too much and I would need to get another price from someone else. He made some adjustments with a total of $1,000 drive out price. I told him I wanted the parts as well. We do not know if this is a fair price or not but I do intend on checking out the prices of the parts he used and will also write to someone who is knowledgeable about auto repairs. So I'll keep you posted. If I find out that he has grossly overcharged us, they will not only lose our business (2 cars) but those of the rest of my family and several of my friends, plus I will certainly be blogging about this on several sites. more

In 20/20 hindsight I should not have let them service my car. Preston was unbelievably rude to us and acted very aloof although he didn't seem to know how to explain what service would best suite our needs. When I didn't respond with an answer that he expected, his condescending manner further aggrevated what was supposed to be a quick and painless errand. I do have to note he wished us a good day when we left. more

I had been taking my car to the firestone store for years. Last week firestone told me I needed over $900.00 of work on my car. Everytime I go in there, its no less than $500.00. I finally decided to try Car-X since my friend told me that they are friendly and honest. They checked the car and told me that the vacuum line had come loose and caused the check engine light to come on. They re-attached the line and my car was all fixed, they didnt even charge me since the mechanic saw and heard it right away. They have a customer for life! more
