On a side street in Capitol Hill, Captain Black's slings booze and bar food that will have you doing a double-take at the menu. Fried-to-order chicken with waffles and syrup, bubbling mac n' cheese, deep-fried cheese curds and an array of po'boys make this saloon a worthy stop for late-night bites. The inside can veer toward cramped, but the expansive outdoor patio space more than makes up for it when the weather cooperates.
Pros: Where else can you get decent chicken-n-waffles in Seattle?
Cons: Service is sometimes a bit slow, indoors can be cramped
