An amazingly high priced steakhouse...where all the filget mignons have to be sent back. I experienced a long wait for a table and service (despite having a reservation). And then...

Steak you can cut with a butter knife! 1/7/2003

I ate at this restaurant for a business lunch and was very pleased by everything! The service was amazing, I even got a personalized thank-you note in the mail the next week from my server! The food was absolutely amazing and the ambiance was very elegant. I truly enjoyed my meal and I can't wait to go back! You must try their specialty Aged Angus...you can cut it with a butter knife!! Special Service 12/19/2002

We were asked by the bartender if we were there for any special occasion. We told him it was our anniversary. During the meal, our waitress brought us an anniversary card. We thought that was a nice touch. more

WONDERFUL EVENING 11/17/2002

My wife and I spent our 1st wedding anniversary with Capital Grille! We were thoroughly spoiled by the staff and our waiter Christian, who bent over backwards to make our evening enjoyable. Not to mention the food was excellent, and our STEAKS were outstanding. It is a nice size place, and everyone speaks and and made sure we had a wonderful evening , and staff including the Chef came out to wish us a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I would recommend resturaunt to everyone, although the prices are high, the food and the service, makes it all worth it. Try try again 10/9/2002

On my first trip to the Grille, I sent back my filet 3 times and ultimately settled on a freezer burned ice-cream dessert, compliments of the waiter who was greatly frustrated with the kitchen. Not comforting when the waitstaff at a steak place tells you on the side that the kitchen has yet to properly prepare a filet all week long. Told by others that my experience was a once in a lifetime mess, I returned on two more occassions. Now I can formally say that this is the only steakhouse in Philadelphia that is clueless at preparing a piece of filet. There are only so many times I can make a meal of sides at a steak eatery. Oh, and I almost forgot that I was never seated on time, waiting usually 30 minutes beyond the reservation, Pros: The bar, The creamed spinach Cons: The kitchen, Never seated on time more

I HAVE EATIN ALL OVER THE CITY, STEAK IS MY FAVORITE MEAL AND THIS WAS THE BEST. I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THE SERVICE CAN MAKE THE FOOD TASTE BETTER. IN THIS CASE THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING AND THE SERVICE WAS EVEN BETTER. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE GO TO THE BEST RESTURANT IN TOWN AND ASK FOR LORRETTA. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!!!! A good location, great food, professional staff, and a beautiful interior (it's just a little dim to read the wine list!)!! My husband and I arrived with a good friend to a packed house, on a Tuesday night?!? The valet parking makes it so easy, and the staff never blinked when we arrived and our friend was in a wheelchair. They quickly switched us from a booth to a table, and Noah, our water, was great!
