Great atmosphere, Great selection 11/13/2005

This is the best small bookstore I have ever shopped at. Exactly like previous reviews have stated, it is like walking into a rare book room in a library. Dusty, musty smelling, dark... But you can buy anything you want. And there is a ton of material to choose from. Anything you could possibly want to read is here, excepting the racks upon racks of crappy fiction you normally find at bigger bookstores like Barnes and Noble. Go in, I promise if you like to read you'll walk out with a book. more

  • Caliban Book Shop specializes in literature, philosophy, poetry, Pittsburgh and local history, Americana and World History, art, children's, sciences, fiction, paperback literature, science fiction, mysteries, older books, leatherbound, rare books, fine printing, etc. Because of the corona virus we are only open by appointment, but welcome you with safely distant open arms. We are located near the universities, the museum and library, in a nice two block section of shops, boutiques, restaurants and coffee houses, making for a nice stroll.
