I remember the first time I went to Cafeteria, about 9 or 10 years ago and though it was just the hippest, coolest place I had ever been and that I was just lucky to be there. Of course, I was right. Boy have times changed. I may not have gotten cooler but this neighborhood has blown the roof off.
Now, Cafeteria is like an old standby where the food is always the same, if not great, very good. And perhaps the coolification and proliferation of all night comfort food for the club kids spots have opened around the neighborhood (ie Diner 24, the Diner), Cafeteria has been humbled into being just a good place to enjoy a fun dinner with friends, which these days is almost a novel idea.
