One of the best Indian restaurants in town! Great Tikki Masala any kind and any preperation of eggplant is divine. It's a great place and I'm lucky it's just up the street. Delivery would be even more awesome though. Their lunch buffet is by far one of the most varied and delicious I have had in Atlanta. This is a must eat. more

Shame on you 4/4/2010

We went for noon brunch on Saturday. The place was dark, smelly. Waiters wore dirty clothes. Food was cold. No one bothered to come and ask if we needed any other items. Food is a shame to the excellent Indian cuisine served at many other restaurants. Lamb meat was a joke. There were a few pieces of bones in the gravy. The Chicken 65 was hard as a rock. Nan was probably made several weeks ago. It was so hard and rubbery, it could not be even broken up into pieces or chewed. Go to McDonald's and have a nice meal for a very reasonable price. To make matters worse they charge dinner price for a lousy buffet. Try Zyka. They have freshly prepared excellent meals for a very reasonable price. Cons: Plenty more

VERY UPSETTING ! 3/12/2010

This is place is in a good location, but when i went with 2 of my friends, i had a horrible experience at the restaurant. First of all, i entered and noone was there to host us to sit down, we waited til someone came out of the kitchen. secondly, i tried the chicken dish and it was so hard like a rubber. i wouldnt recommend anyone to try the lunch buffet and overall its wayy to expensive to dine there than compared to other Indian restaraunts in Atlanta. All of my friends decided this place isnt a place to have food, just a waste of my money, try elsewhere. Pros: would not go back ! Cons: would not go back ! more

Excellent food but expensive 12/4/2009

I usually do not like buffet meals because I do not like to stuff myself, but Cafe Bombay's lunch during the week is great. II.00 is too much. All the other Indian rest. lunch is 7-8. I think Cafe Bombay has a better lunch so 9-10 inc. tax would be fine. You should try this restaurant because it is very flavorful. They have lots of vege. dishes but also lots of meat dishes also including goat. I eat at Indian restaurants a lot as it is my favorite cuisine and Cafe Bombay is tops on my list. Pros: Great food Cons: Too expensive for what it is more

Very bad service 5/25/2009

I can understand some one would like a first turn over of customers, but it's really rude to wait around the table once people finished eating to make them leave.. Pros: the food was OK Cons: service was really bad! more

Amazingly Delicious!!! 1/28/2009

Without question or doubt, Cafe Bombay is truly a terrific Indian cuisine restaurant. My 5 friends and I enjoyed every single dish that we ordered from the menu. The food was well-prepared and delicious beginning with the best ""Desi wing"" for appetizers to the leftovers we all had the next day. The spices and sauces are a standout for each dish. It shows that someone in the kitchen is truly experienced in making these authentic Indian dishes; no second-hand learning here. I plan to put this restaurant on monthly dinner rotation. It was just AWESOME!!!! Try the wings!!!!! Pros: Food,Service Cons: Needs more Ambience more

Best Indian in town hands down 1/6/2009

I am not a Indian food finatic, but I will say that I have eaten at my fair share of indian joints, including the hole in the wall spots on Lawrenceville Hwy. Cafe Bombay is hands down the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Does that make it authentic, probably not, but it is on my regular lunch rotation. They have a wide array of great dishes (excuse my spelling) including my personal favorites, Tika Masala, Bindi Masala, Navitaran, and the Naan is great. The Ryta is creamy and not pasty like many other places. They have a something for everyone, so don't worry if you are with picky eaters. The restaurant is family owned and it shows. A great spot to go on a Fri or Sat with friends to watch the belly dancers. Or check out he lunch buffet (a bargin!) where you can try many different dishes (a great choice for the first timers). If you are in the area of Emory, Tocco Hills, or N Druid Hills; try it out and you will not be dissapointed. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I really do like this spot! more

Be careful all indian restaurants have a rting of 4 or more on 5 7/8/2008

The ratings appear articially inflated. It is impossible that all indian restaurants have a rating of 4 or 4.5 on 5 and when you visit them, you have the most disastrous experience. The ratings are inflated by restaurant owner and their family who post extremely positive reviews. The result is that all Indian restaurants in atlanta end up having a rating of 4 or 5. more

Bogus food 2/7/2008

They don't know Paneer tikka masala nd Malai kofta.. bogus food. May be other stuff good but don't want to go again. more

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING! 9/1/2007

OH MY GOSH! Seriously I don't really know how you can possibly say good things about this restaurant. I have absolutely nothing good to say about it. My friends and I wanted to try something new and the ad for this restaurant and went there but unfortunately the service was horrible. After we got seated nobody came to take our order, and the waiter that did come could not even speak good english. I am from England and I know my curries. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, naan and Palak Paneer. I am very sorry to say that the Chiken Tikka Masala was quite oily and without flavor. The naan was as if I was eating plastic and The Palak Paneer was alright, not as bad as the other dishes. I would definately not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pros: decor Cons: Service, Parking, food more

Great Food & Great Variety 7/25/2007

I fell in love with Indian cuisine about 15 years ago. Since then I have had the opportunity to try many different Indian dishes at restaurants around the country. I can say without hesitation that Cafe Bombay is one of the best! The variety of dishes served at Cafe Bombay is incredible! The lunch buffet is far and away the best I have had anywhere. For those of you who have never had the opportunity to sample Indian cuisine, this is a good place to start. The management and waitstaff are very friendly and the service is great! I highly recommend the Chicken Shahi Korma and selections from the Tandoori menu. The Saag and Aloo Paratha are also very good. If you are looking for a great Indian culinary experience, definitely check out Cafe Bombay! more

Excellent Authentic North Indian Food 7/19/2007

This is one of the most authentic North Indian places in Atlanta. This is most close to Punjabi food, and believe me being a Punjabi I can vouch for it. The Biryani is out of this world, and the tandoori stuff is great too. Try the tandoori shrimp. The place has a large variety of menu options, and you will find most of the items you knew growing up. The buffet lunch is a great value, and has the same consistent taste. However I have felt that at times some items in the buffet tend to get cold. Overall, highly recommended if you're into Indian food. Pros: Excellent Food, great value Cons: Could do a better job in ensuring buffet doesnt get cold more

SSSOOOOOO GOOD!!! 3/9/2007

I absolutely love Cafe Bombay. Their lunch buffet is the best. The Naan is so good and fresh, all of the chicken dishes are tasty and seasoned to perfection. Service is top of the line. The staff and the owner are incredibly nice, and very attentive to all of your needs. I recommend Cafe Bombay to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine. more

Love! Love! Love it! 1/5/2007

I am a big fan of Indian food and I absolutely LOVE Cafe Bombay. I love the ambience and the service is great! Although I love Indian food, I can't always remember whats what just by looking at the names in the menu so that why I enjoy the buffet so much. Everything is presented right in front of you--so you don't have worry about knowing the names of the food or what to order---just choose what looks good! When you go there, try the mango lassie drink! Its GREAT!! Very rich and creamy. more

Real ""Authentic"" Indian Food 11/28/2006

Looking for what all other Indian restaurants call ""Authentic"" cuisine? Check out Cafe Bombay. From the pakoras to the tandoor to all the different variety of chicken, lamb, goat, seafood and vegetarian curries, its some of the best Indian food in town. Service is fast and the wait staff is very attentive. If you want to mix it up a bit, make sure to stop by for their lunch buffet. 30 daily fresh cooked items is a great way to start off the day during your lunch break. You definitley wont be disappointed! Pros: Great Staff and Great food! more

Fabulous Indian Food! 10/26/2006

Cafe Bombay serves traditional Indian dishes. If you're eating in, try the mixed Tandori (Chicken, Seafood, and Lamb baked in a clay oven); also, for sauce dishes try the ginger chicken and rogan josh. The service is above average. Don't forget to finish dinner with a traditional hot Chai tea! Pros: Great for group and family dining Cons: Not "romantic" if your looking for something upscale and ritzy. more

Not Impressive! 7/15/2006

I went there for a party and lets say it was not impressive at all. The ceiling had water leakage spots the floor was dirty and the lighting no so good. The food is not very good. No meat on the meat dish's and the presentation not very good. Service was mediocre unfortunately. Pros: Convinient location and lots of parking Cons: No decoration, Food tasteless more

Great Indian Food 7/8/2006

I highly recommend this place. The food is great. They have a 2-person special that gets you tons of food for only $13 each! They are never busy (not sure why) so you'll always get fast service. more

faltu food 6/2/2006

3 items in their lunch menu is good namely - ground turkey (the day its there) punjabi curry daal saag rest 27 items of the 30 item menu are hopeless...u cannot have that naan..rice items are so bland...sweet dishes all taste plastic (i hope u understand what i mean by this) even the lassi that we ordered was vague apart from my first line i do not have any good comments about this restaurant.. I absolutely do not recommend it to people who love eating good indian food. more
