Everybody's Zooing It! 12/11/2006

This past weekend we had the pleasure to renew our membership at the Toledo Zoo and spend the day and even into the evening enjoy the sites and animals there. In the evening we were amazed by the incredible light show presented in The Lights Before Christmas and the kids were thrilled to meet Santa and sit on his lap to have a photo taken. There were lots of yummy goodies to eat and the Carnivore Cafe was open late for those patrons wishing to catch a bite of dinner between visiting the animals and the light show that began in the evening. The Toledo Zoo is by far the most incredible zoo I've been to and my family will attest to it also. We've been going since our kids were just babies and missed renewing our membership until now. The kids love it. We love it. It's a great way to spend the day with your family and if you get a family membership you can enjoy this wonderful zoo anytime of the year along with special events throughout the year like Lights Before Christmas and Boo at the Zoo, among many others. Get to the Toledo Zoo where Everybody's Zooing It! more

Labor Day 2005 6/15/2006

It wasn't my first or even fifth trip to the Toledo Zoo but it definitely won't be my last. Even though the weather was really hot, we got to see so many animals. The meerkat display was just too funny. And watching a mama gorilla snatch her baby up cause he was getting to close to the window was just adorable. more

The Toledo Zoo 2/28/2006

I was thoroughly impressed with my latest trip to the Toledo Zoo. Not only would I say it was a great zoo, but it's perhaps one of the best I've ever attended. There are a ton of animal displays, including a huge reptile and amphibian house. There is also a very large African savannah exhibit, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend who works with many of the animals on display gave me a bit of a behind-the-scenes tour, and I can attest that they care for the animals and treat them quite well. Overall, a great zoo, and I can't wait to go back! more

Everybody's zooing it! 11/13/2005

I never would have expected a smaller city like Toledo to have such an excellent zoo! I have been to 9-10 different zoo's and Toledo is by far my favorite. The animals exhibits are very natural, and they look very happy in them. There is a nice playground, a train ride and carosoul, and plenty of places to eat! Admission prices have gotten high, but if you plan to go a few times you can buy season passes that are good at a lot of different zoos too. Highly reccomend checking this one out! more

The Toledo Zoo 10/22/2005

This world-renowned zoo is home to the world's first Hippoquarium, an underwater viewing area wherein patrons can watch the daily activity of a hippopotamus family. In addition to having more than 4000 animals and 600 species, the zoo has a new exhibit of polar bears. This is a high-quality educational experience with plenty of fun for the whole family. Call to find out information about hosting after-hours events here in the Aquarium, Arctic Encounter or conference center. more

Great Family Fun 8/22/2005

The zoo is great place to go any day of the week. The major attraction is the African Savannah exhibit. This attraction places animals in an savannah setting. There are giffaffes, wildebeast abd zebra to name a few. The zoo has gotten so big that it takes an entire day to see every exhibit. Residents of Lucas county are admitted free on Mondays holidays excluded between 10 and noon. more

Wonderful Zoo 8/19/2005

We buy the family membership because we take so many zoo trips. The kids love going to the zoo and the thing I like about this zoo is that everything is close together. They have a wonderful tank for the Polar bears where you can watch them play in the water. They have a small park in the middle of the park and 2 different carousals. more

Looking for something to do? Go to the Zoo! 6/17/2005

The Toledo Zoo is a load of fun. Their new Africa Area is beautiful and taking a train ride through the open Animal Exhibit there makes you feel almost like you're not in a zoo at all. They have had plenty of good luck with breeding in the last few years with a new elephant, a giraffe, gorillas, wolves, tigers and more being born. The atmosphere is fun as well as educational. Although the regular price is fairly high Lucas county residents can get in free from 10 to 12 am on Mondays except holidays, and membership is very well priced. And when it's time to eat there are a number of places to check out, but I suggest the Carnivore Cafe where they once housed the big cats. It's fun to eat in the old cages, and they have yummy food. more
