Brookfield Zoo is one of two major zoos in the Chicago area. It's located just outside of the city and is easy to get to by most of the expressways. You will pay $8.00 to park there unless you are a member (in which case it is then free). Admission is $8/adult and $4/children & seniors. There are also extra charges in the zoo for things such as the dolphin show, zoo tram, and the two children's zoos. If you think you will go there at least twice a year, it is worth it to get a membership. The zoo has many different types of exhibits and most likely has your favorite animal. They have underwater viewing tanks for the dolphins, seals, and walruses. Always a big hit with the kids. You can bring in your own lunch or eat at one of the many eateries in the zoo. I personally find Brookfield Zoo to be more enjoyable to go to than the one in the city and it's easier to get to.
