After 4 years as a satisfied patient, I am very disappointed with how an issue was handled by this office. While in the middle of a root canal on a front tooth, I was asked if I wanted to have internal whitening. I was unable to effectively ask questions, as my mouth was full of equipment and I was under the influence of sedation. I typed quick questions on my cell phone to communicate with the Dentist, which resulted in my understanding that the procedure was covered by my insurance. As it turns out, it was not. When I called to question the charges on my bill, the office manager refused to call me back, but switched to email correspondence, which I find rude. After much back and forth over a couple of months (primarily initiated by me), the office maintained that the misunderstanding was on my part and the charges were to stand. (The charges were eventually "discounted".) My issue with the experience is that no one in the office ever acknowledged that I should have been told the details of the whitening option PRIOR to being in the middle of a procedure and I should have received an apology for what I feel is a broken trust with a dental professional, which has left me feeling taken advantage of...and in search of a new Dentist.
