ordered parts from them two months ago, kept telling me they would be here any day, now they say it will be another month, contacted another vendor , parts will be here in three days, if I ran my business the way they do , I wouldn't be open very long , have removed them from are vendors list permanantly more

Would post a negative if possible. Bought brand new engine. Nothing but trouble. Damaged flywheel right out of crate, with massive oil leakage. Distributor quit working causing massive electrical issues. Points keep burning out. Mechanic says the carb is bad, and it is brand new. Engine cost over $4 k and is a piece of junk. Have spent over $ 3 k on repairs to a new engine. DO not buy from Mid America. Their motto is buyer beware. Have tried multiple times address the problems with this engine. Sorry company. more

Took advantage of the free shipping in July and one of the parts I ordered, which was in stock according to the website, went to back order. I waited a month for information and when I received none I emailed them mid August. The reply stated that it should be available... mid August. Now mid September I emailed them again and get no reply. I am almost to the point of writing that part off and paying someone else for one. Quality wise I ordered a "premium" single port manifold and the carb mounting flange is full of extra metal to the point where work will need to be done to create a flat surface to mount the carb and redo the bevel at the top of the tube. Not a premium part at all. Very dissatisfied with this vendor at the moment. more

I am very unhappy with Mid America Motorworks. I order a bumper for my VW in July, here it is November 14, 2011 and I have not received it and they have made no effort to keep me informed of my order status. I called them at the end of Sept, they said it would arrive at their location in a few days, then be shipped no me. It was never received. I called them last week, was told they did not have it, but will look into it and get back to me, I have yet to hear a thing from them, but they have my money. I have done business with them in the past, was on unhappy with the way my orders came in piece meal, but this the last straw. Rick more

There is not enough space to devote to how impressive Mid-America Motorworks is. Started by Mike Yager in the early 70's from the back of his car, this operation has grown into a multi-million dollar company. Mid-America's catalog sales for parts for Corvettes, Volkswagons and Porshes are only a small part of what Mr. Yager does. There is an on-site museum that while small, is very impressive and worth the trip to Effingham. He hosts several specialty car shows each year (last year's Corvette Funfest had over 10,000 Corvettes). Mr. Yager's story is legendary in Effingham, and his events provide a wonderful source for bringing people into town. more
