Martin's cafe has been in the neighborhood for over 40 years (that I can remember), and has always been great for Mexican delights. It doesn't give you all the mex-tex varieties of today...it is more 'old school" mexican cuisine. They have homemade tortillas, homemade carne guisada, piccadillo, carne de puerco, and breakfasts that are just out of this world. There is no pretense in this restaurant, this mom & pop restaurant has been owned and operated by Mr. Martin (now deceased), and his wife Lupe that continues to make Martin's a neighborhood institution. No frills...just good home cooking.
