Do not miss this great collection. Constantly changing and consistently excellent art of the highest quality. Among my favorites are the works of Maynard Dixon.

Great art museum for anyone and everyone. 3/21/2006

The BYU Museum of Art is perfect for any visit, whether you plan to delve deep into 150 years of American painting at their permanent exhibit, or just want a quick run through one of their visiting shows. Entry is free, and the museum is small, so it's great for a quick browse (between classes if you're a student) but not so small that you ever feel like you have seen everything, because the BYU Museum of Art is constantly changing exhibits and otherwise updating itself. If possibly, try to make it there during lunch so you can treat yourself to a bite to eat at the MOA cafe. Tasty, trendy food at an affordable price. Also, don't miss out on the museum gift shop which is always good for a decent poke around. I've never known anyone to not like this museum. more

Nice on-campus museum 9/21/2005

If you don't have the means to travel to downtown Salt Lake for a musuem, this place is perfect for you. They actually have pretty good exhibits and use their lecture halls to bring in guest speakers that are quite fascinating. If you get hungry from all the walking around - head upstairs to the musuem of art Cafe which has amazingly good food. They are always trying new recipes - so don't be afraid to venture out. more

BYU Museum of Art 9/9/2005

I like visiting the BYU Museum of Art when I'm close by. It's a dose of culture for free--they have donation boxes if you wish to contribute, but there is no pressure. They also have a pretty nice little cafe on the the 2nd floor with gourmet offerings (the desserts are always very tempting) and a nice view of campus. more

This place has great exhibits 8/31/2005

This is such a fun place to go. They have new exhibits all the time. There has been a Chinese Dynasty exhibit, and a Monet exhibit just to name a few. Fun place for the whole family. Very family orientated. Highly recommend. more

Good Permanent Collections and Exhibits 8/18/2005

The Museum of Art is a nice museum. In addition to their standard collections of art (including an American themed exhibit), they have interesting rotating collections. These rotating exhibits often deal with ancient civilizations, but have also been things like the history of the automobile (with everything from wagons to the latest concept cars). It is also a nice place to get away from the commotion of campus -- it is usually quiet, often with soft piano or other music being played. The museum is free for their standard collections and cheap for their rotating exhibits. more

Great Art Museum 8/17/2005

The Brigham Young University Museum of Art offers many different exhibits for you to see. You'll find many paintings as well as sculptures and sometimes even old classic car exhibits. The Museum of Art offers a great cafe on top where you can dine in between art gazing. Some exhibits are even by college students from BYU. more
