The Continental of Market Street recently opened a branch in West Center City, one of the latest Stephen Starr establishments. The new Continental has the same imaginative martini menu as its sister site except the prices have all gone up by a dollar or two. It also has significantly more space - a downstairs is reserved more for eating but the upstairs has a bar, rope swing seats, and tables for lounging and chatting. Unlike the Old City Continental, you can actually sit upstairs before midnight without having to order dinner. Like its sister site, this Continental is a place for splashy young professionals to come to see and be seen while dropping cash on some drinks. There's no dress code but most people wear dressy casual attire - if you show up just casual, you WILL feel underdressed. I especially recommend as far as the martinis go the Dean Martini (love the name) which is a dirty martini that comes with a Lucky Strike cigarette and the classic Pimm's Cup to get in touch with your British side.
