Royal Court and Feast!! 12/27/2005

One of the end of summer events that lasts through the Minnesota State Fair and the start of school is the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, held in Shakopee. The Renaissance Festival is open weekends and Labor Day from mid-August to late September, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The period celebrated by the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is the 16th Century, with a royal court, pseudo-period food and crafts, jousts or other period contests, and costumed participants. more

Pricey to Get In 9/8/2005

I think it is way too pricey to even enter the doors. There is a lot of different foods and some fun crafty shopping to be done. However, on a windy day I would not recommend because it turns into a large dust bowl. more

Renaissance Festival 8/28/2005

It's a must-go, but once is enough. Jousting, crafters, food, dressed up people, shows are all lots of fun, but almost nothing changes year after year. You see all the same people doing all the same stuff, saying all the same or slightly modified jokes... Just go once and cherish your memories. more

Annoying Accents 8/19/2005

I think you need to be a certain type of person to really enjoy the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. If you are here reading a review and wondering if you should go, it is likely not for you. I find most of the performers annoying and the attendees are worse. Feigned English accents are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. more

Renaissance Festival 8/17/2005

This is a must for the end of the summer. They have so many things to see here. There is many types of food to try and enjoy. Especially the beer. There is also Renaissance lovers dressed in costumes. That is fun to see. And if you love music, they have a bunch of different bands who play here. Check it out! more

The Most Fun You'll Have All Summer! 8/16/2005

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is probably the coolest, most unique attraction in the Twin Cities Area. It's hard to describe just how fun this place is. The festival runs August 15th to September 25th. They have a wide variety of foods (Beer Cheese Soup is my personal favorite), entertainment, demonstrations, artisans, etc, etc. It's pretty affordable considering all the entertainment you'll get, the thing that gets you is food, drink, beer... There are several acts that perform throughout the festival, some notable ones are The Tortuga Twins, Puke and Snot, The Rat Catcher, and of course Jousting. All the shows there are terrific, not to mention the actors working on grounds who are spectacular as well. The Ren Fest can be great fun for everyone, I never miss a year and I love it every time I go. more
