A kite as a souvenir and less fattening eye candy 8/30/2006

My cousin suggested this shop for souvenirs. Wow the selection was great, The colors of the kites are the first thing you notice, along with the varied selection of kites on display. Our other interests are in the fabric wind chimes which give a great visual display minus the sound. We did not have enough space in our luggage for the number of kites we ordered, and the staff was more than willing to ship our order, which arrived within a week. Kite Toys for Young and Old 11/26/2005

Great place to visit for almost any kite toy and more. My son Adam and I have been going there for years. They are always helpful and addressing our kiting needs and wants. It is good to just visit or buy that new Prism kite. more

What fun 10/18/2005

I found a great kite for my 3 1/2 year old son here. The staff person made some good recommendations, but it was another customer that gave me the best advice. The store has a wide selection of kites for all types of ability levels and price points. The location is convenient to Gas Works Park. Parking can be difficult. more

A fun place for kids of all ages 8/29/2005

Gas Works Kite Shop is a fun place to get a good toy, I have a stunt kite they built over 10 years ago and it is still in great shape! They repaired it for me once years back. Other than that, I have only recently replaced the strings… Caused by a “kite fight” –two kites’ strings got tangled in hefty winds. If you haven’t tried flying a stunt kite, I highly recommend it. It is loads of fun. All you need is a steady wind and a wide open place. And there is no better place to get a kite than from Gas Works Kite Shop. more

How many kinds of kites can you think of? Chances are Gasworks Kite shop has the one you’re thinking of. They have a great selection of kites and spinning wind blown works of art for your yard too. The kites are durable and there are kites from just a few bucks up to the fanciest performing kites. We haven’t been disappointed yet with anything we’ve bought from them. more

Stop by to buy a kite before heading to Gasworks Park 8/17/2005

This little shop located on Stone Way by the Burke-Gilman Trail and Lake Union has a huge selection of kites and a variety of other little toys and gadgets. The staff is super knowledgeable about kites and kiting (compared to me who knows very little) and they are very friendly. Before heading to the coast one day, we stopped by to pick out a kite and the woman working there helped us pick out a cute blue seagull model that was rated as easy in terms of level of difficulty. We love the kite! She also gave us some key pointers on how to get it in the air and keep it there. It’s been fun and I’ll definitely go back to buy some fun and unique gifts for friends. more

nice place for kite 8/16/2005

This place is near Fremont and carries a lot of kites. I was a newbie to stunt kites and headed there for my first purchase. The salesperson is friendly. She explained to me the different types of kites available. She even threw in some freebies for me to start with! You can also get a free newsletter with flying tips and local events. more
