SoHo Billiards

Like “The Hop”, Soho Billiards is the place to be on any night of the week. Cold beers, good food, and cool people make this joint the best billiards place in Manhattan. The ambiance here could not be any better (the good looking crowd is always here!). It also helps that the staff is friendly and the tables aren’t all scratched up! more

The pool hall itself is located right on the north side of houston street such that it is technically in NoHo instead of SoHo :) Anyway... aside from that, the pool hall itself is fine. For one thing, you almost never have to wait for a table when you're there because the place is so huge (spacious with lots of tables). I also find it rather clean compared to many other pool halls. Back in the days when smoking indoors was allowed, they had separate levels for smokers and non-smokers to make sure non-smokers did not have to suffer the smell of cigarette smoke. The food bar did not have much of a selection, but it was decent. The tables and chairs were arranged very well for the setting, enabling ample space for everyone to walk around in without bumping into anyone. The choice of pool sticks there was rather limited though. Like most billiards, they charge tables by the number of hours you play and they also account for the number of players per table. I would say their prices are rather fair for city pool halls. more

SoHo Billiards is a fantastic pool joint on Houston Street (despite technically being north of Houston, I’ll let it slide). Lot’s of tables and hardly ever a long wait to get onto one of the tables. This place has got a great atmosphere and great people and I love coming here all the time more

Definately not the best place to play some pool. This is a dim place like most Pool Halls. The game prices are probably a bit higher than average. And I don't like the fact that there are so many teenagers smoking around the Pool Hall. I can't recall if they allow smoking indoors, but there are certainly lots of smoking. They also serve drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. This is not my kind of place. There are better pool halls out there, ones that are more socialable. more
