Historic Preervation Consultant 11/13/2011

I worked with a contractor who subcontracted to Robert Lennox for restoration of stained glass windows. His work was excellent and well executed. There were no problems with the contract, which is not usually the case. His other work, which we reviewed, is also fantastic and there were no bad reports on him. I particularly like his preservation philosophy used in the St. James Church restoration of "plating" which allows for the retention of original historic fabric, while introducing new fabric that replicates the original design. Excellent approach. We consult on many historic churches, courthouses, and other buildings and see much stained glass and leaded glass restoration. more

Mr. Lennox is not an honest businessman, contracted with me, took a large deposit, and never returned or did the work. Excuses were made, appointments were not kept, and almost a year later a Court Judgement was entered and Mr. Lennox has not paid the monies he owes. Think twice about parting with your monies as this man has no integrity and no regard for the law. more

Teaching craftsmen 10/24/2007

I took a course at Stain Glass Imagery in basic techniques of this craft. It was very rewarding and I did learn some basic techniques. The shop has all levels of learning. There was a fellow learning some intricate work with beautiful gemlike pieces. The experience was like living in the medieval times where one learned the skills and crafts from the guild. The shop work on windows, lamps, etc. They also restore Church stain glass windows from a century or more ago. I will one day take a more advanced course in stain glass since I found it so rewarding. more

Stained Glass by a Pro, not a Hobbyist 8/15/2005

If you're looking to restore a heirloom or a window in your home, go to A Stained Glass Imagery. This is a professional shop, not someone who makes window lightcatchers for fun. They are expensive, but if your job can only be handled by the best, then go to the only artist stained glass crafters on Staten Island. I live next to St. Peter's church and seeing the work they did fixing up those windows was amazing. I wouldn't go to anyone else for a serious project. more
