Olive Garden-esque 3/19/2006

If you want the Olive Garden experience with worse decor and the lack of shame that comes with being a New Yorker going to a chain restaurant, then you should go here. which is to say, I can't think of a single good reason why you should go here at all. The food isn't awful (although the pasta is nearly universally overcooked), but it's aggressively mediocre and the service is distracted at best and irritable (and irritating) at worse. And the "angels" concept, it's not as cute as you think it is. more

Did I catch them on a bad night 3/17/2006

I am serious about my Italian food and was very disappointed in what we received and the service was not good at all when we ate here. If this is how it is all the time, I can see why the prices are so low, you gotta bait them in the door somehow. I might try it again in a month or two, but if it hasn't gotten any better, I won't be back...ever. Too bad, I really wanted to like it. more

Good food, aweful decor! 1/13/2006

Angels is a good place at very low prices to eat a large meal in a place that is terribly decorated! Twinkle lights and ugly paintings are all over and neon lights in the front. It's horrible! But look past the uglyness, or close your eyes, and you will be pleasantly surprised! The food is good, the portions are large, the waitstaff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. So it's a pretty good place afterall! more

Cheap Olive Garden 8/21/2005

I stopped into this restaurant one night with my sister because it was on the way to the movie theatre and it has an inviting and cute neon sign. It was also packed so we figured it would be good. Since we are 100% Italian and have been raised on good Italian food, perhaps we tend to be pickier than most about food. The food here was not very appetizing. We ordered macaroni with tomato sauce and were thoroughly disappointed. The sauce was totally bland. The service was rushed, although the waitress was friendly. The bread was decent. Unfortunately, the most important part of the meal—the tomato sauce—did not taste very Italian. It was more of what you might get at the Olive Garden. more

awesome place to eat 8/14/2005

what makes this restaurant special is the food. great italian food. appetizers that are great are: the calamari. dishes are around 9 - 12 dollars. one dish that is 18 dollars is out of this world. it is the pasta paella: lots of seafood, chicken, and sausage in a red sauce. overall this is is amazing place for food. the atmosphere is so so but the food makes it wonderful. more
