Ua Riverview Plaza 17

I've been to the Riverview a few times, and I have to say it is the worst theatre that I know of in Philly. Nothing wrong with the building or the screens, but the patrons have absolutely no concept of how to behave. People talking, yelling and screaming at the screen through the show, reading the subtitles out loud to their friends, talking on cell phones, as well as screaming kids and people snoring. My friend actually got physically threatened for asking someone to please be quiet during the movie. The only time it wasn't awful was during a special sneak preview matinée at 10 in the morning. There's no point going here, you're not going to be able to hear the movie anyways and you'll be completely frustrated and angry at the other movie-goers by the end. more

If you want to overspend on a movie ticket, popcorn, and a soda, go to UA Riverview. This a renovated theater that has stadium seating and which is probably the best feature of the theater. A majority of the people who come here to watch movies are very rude, they would talk up a storm even during the movie. Many of them not courteous enough to turn off their cellphone during the show. They even allow newborns into their late shows, and that can be a nuisance when the toddler is crying during the show. more
