Sapphire Kitchen and Bar

i've been to sapphire two or three times now, and usually walk away thinking that maybe they had an off night. by now i'm convinced that they are just an ok restaurant. the decor is nice, the place is cozy and the drinks are good. the food is very nice with a large variety, including lots of tapas, several salads, and full dinner plates too. the food wasn't outstanding but it was very nice. my main complaint about them was the service. it was sllllooooooow. in an almost-empty restaurant it took over 5 minutes until they took our drink order, and then at least another 10 minutes until they took our dinner order. by then we were starving and when our waitress finally brought out some bread i thought we were going to grab it before it hit the table. too bad, they have potential. that's my story and i'm stickin with it more

I don't hit Sapphire very often, but every experience I have had there has be quite nice. One time, I chatted with the bartender for quite a while (mostly ignoring my not so entertaining date), and another time I had a fantastic date filled with conversation and delicious cocktails. It's a nice change from some of the meat market bars and clubs you find in other parts of the city. And, it is smoke free before 10pm, which is nice if you don't want to smell like an ashtray. more

Sapphire is a great find on QA hill - romantic, quiet, fantastic ambiance. Go on weekday nights for their Sunset Supper and get a great deal on a 3-course meal as well as 1/2 price bottles of wine. The medeterranean cuisine is spectacular - the seafood a delight. Amazing desserts as well - you couldn't ask for more! more
