I really DO hate to rate LOW a business because I feel all have at least something good about them. then I thought about Randys. When we bought our home over 10 years ago it was brand new. The carpet still had fuzz in the corners. At first I was thrilled with it but it soon the carpet began to wear in a strange way. At that time it was just myself and my husband...NO kids. I called Randy's and asked for someone to come look at it....I was told nothing was wrong, and that no one would come to check it out After calling a number of times, an employee finally came to the house. Before he stepped foot in my door he announced my carpet was "fine"....so much for an honest "check" of the carpet! Of course I didn't expect anything different when a couple of days later, I received a call from the store. I was told the carpet was "just fine" and that any problems were due to a normal "aging of the carpet"...some on folks! The carpet wasn't even a year old! I soon realized nothing was going to happen to fix the carpet and I left it as it was. I later found out MANY other homeowners had had the same problem with their carpet......we WEREN'T the only ones! And to top it off, they had received the same attention we did when they called about their sub-standard carpet!
I have since discovered that the original carpet was poor quality and the padding inferior. In fact when we replaced some of the carpet a mere 2 years after buying the house, the padding was of such a low grade that it virtually disintegrated in our hands! No wonder it wasn't supporting the carpet!!!
Now it is your $ to spend as you will but in my opinion, I would not spend it at Randy's. There are (and I have reviewed at least one) other carpet stores around and I can assure you that you will be pleased that you shopped around....we certainly were when we replaced our carpet....I only wish I had known of Randy's sub par customer service when this whole mess began!
