the underdog 8/17/2005

ok, so the metro mart is a little funkier and a little smaller than store 24 or cvs, but i like to support the underdog, so i always check here first. the prices are definitely comparable to those of store-24. they have a decent selection of sodas, snacks, gums, candy bars, and even ice cream. so if you don't want to pay four dollars for a scoop of ice cream at coldstone, hop over to the metro mart and get a whole pint for less than that. more

Convenience Store 8/17/2005

A small convenient store catering to the needs of mostly college students and high school kids in Providence East Side. The store does not offer a wide variety of materials; mainly soft drinks, chips, protein bars, candies, and various household items. The store is almost always open and the people there are really nice. If you want to do some groceries, you will not find many of the items you need. However, if a quick snack and drink is all you need, then this is the place to go. more

I like it... 8/9/2005

Ok, it's not the best stocked convenience store on Thayer street, but sometimes all you want from a convenience store is convenience. I hate waiting on line at CVS, scraggly teens rebelling against their rich parents are always asking me for change outside of Store 24, and the Metro Mart is the closest to Brown. The guy that works (worked?) the counter sometimes lets me practice my broken French with him, without laughing. Give this place a chance. more

tiny, there are better options 8/9/2005

Probably the worst option as far as small convenience stores go on thayer. It seems like it is hardly ever open, and doesn't have much at all. If I'm on the way to the library and need a red bull I might stop here, but that's about it. CVS is only a few blocks away and is a much better alternative. more
