Of the area craft stores, Michaels is my least favorite. They have a good selection of scrapbooking supplies which will sometimes draw me in. The store itself often feels cramped and there are usually boxes blocking some portion of the store since restocking happens during shopping hours. I usually have to wait to check out even when there are just a few customers. When I ask questions about products the employees are not very knowledgeable. If you're looking for one expensive item and you have a coupon from the newspaper, it's probably worth going in. Their yarn selection is okay, but not varied beyond what you can find at a discount store. Maybe it's this individual store though. I understand a new store is coming to Nampa and I will try the new store to see if it's any better (less cramped, cleaner, better customer service). I know sometimes these things vary from store to store.
