Toyota Selling UNSAFE Cars Again! 7/21/2011

Buyer Beware, Toyota Selling UNSAFE Cars Again!!!!! I bought a car from this Toyota Dealer thinking i would get a safe reliable used car. While purchasing this car they sure did a good job of presenting me with all this paper work that it had all these inspections, a car fax and all this other diverting mumbo jumbo assuring me this car was in good working order. Come to find out that there was a significant oil leak that was not disclosed to me and they tried covering it up by gluing on the oil plug to stop the leak. The glue was silicone but glue none the less. There was also a leak coming from the oil pan seal that was causing oil to leak on to the exhaust pipe and start burning that causes an awful smell. So I returned to asked that this problem be fixed being that i thought that it should of been disclosed to me when i purchased it. So they fed me some bull about that I bought the car as is and that it wasn't a safety issue. So I said when there is oil leaking on to the hottest part of the tail pipe that seems like a safety issue to me. Also if that isn't a safety issue then i can almost be positive that me and my children breathing these fumes being put off from the oil burning is. So after a little bit of hassle they realized they were wrong and agreed to fix it. Well they tried twice to fix it without success. Then they said that the oil was coming from somewhere else and wanted me to pay for them to try and find the problem. So basically they agreed that they should fix it and it was a safety issue but now that it might not fit in with the bottom line they cant do it. Pretty sad for a company such as Toyota to sell cars like this. Also the person name was Cindy in the service Department that said it wasn't a safety issue and that denied my request to make it right. You should be ashamed of yourself. more

Awesome!! 5/8/2011

I came to Toyota knowing I would get a great car but wasn’t expecting to recieve the best service ever. I am a server and I know a thing or two about service and let me tell you, Power Toyota is on point. From the greeting to the test drives, the annoying questions I kept asking and all the headache of financing. They kept their cool the entire time and never once seemed to be bothered by all the hassle I put them through. I am definitely happy with my purchase. more

VERY DISHONEST DEALER 5/5/2011

My husband and I purchased a new Sienna van (which we love) from this dealer 0n 4.9.11 and we experienced multiple, serious and dishonest problems with the dealer. First off we turned in a full paid for vehicle as part of the deal and brought that car in the day before for it to be looked at and were given a written price for that car. !2 hours later when we came back to complete the transaction they said the trade-in would be $1000 less unless we could prove to them that the convertible top worked—it did work perfectly but it was never brought up the day before when the trade in was being evaluated. Secondly the check for the trade in never came to us. We called and called and called – never got a return call and when we did speak with people got excuse after excuse. We were told the check should arrive to us in about 2 weeks. Finally nearly a month went by and I went into the dealer and they looked for the check and found our $13500 check – dated 2 weeks pervious to the date I was there, “sitting on someone’s desk”. Next problem was they did not forwarding third party services paperwork for completion to LoJack so our tracking and warning system could not get installed. We paid for this but could not get it installed until the dealer sent the paperwork into LoJack—a month went by and nothing. Next problem was missing areas inside the car in applying the PermaPlate protestant. Problems continued as the service department told me it would be 1 ½ weeks before they could give me an appointment to complete some work and repairs on an open due bill for things that were part of the new car purchase that the dealer needed to fix—but had no time to on the day of the purchase of for over a month following that date. So why does this dealer have such great ratings? Well the people we dealt with made a point of telling us (and providing written instructions too) that is was VERY IMPORTANT if we get a follow-up call or survey we give them all excellent ratings in every category, and a more

New Motor 4/25/2011

Great Experience. I had a problem with my window motor in my new Toyota Camry, Chris was a great help, he had it fixed in no time at all. He knows what he is doing and does a great job with keeping you up to date with the service time. Dropped it off in the morning had it back when I was off work. I will return to the service department at Power Toyota Cerritos and going directly back to Chris with any questions or work that needs to be done. more

Love my Whip 4/7/2011

I came into Toyota simply because I needed a more fuel efficient car. My V8 truck isn’t doing it for me anymore. It cost me almost a $100.00 for a full tank and it only gets me about 400 mi. This just isn’t cutting it for me anymore. I have been looking around at a few different cars but the Camry Hybrid really caught my eye. My wife and I went to Power Toyota to look around (we had no intent to buy). Nick greeted us with a smile, he walked up and asked if there was anything he could do to help us find what we were looking for. I basically told him I like to stand out from the crowd. I don’t like the everyday looking car, but fuel is my concern right now. I did mention that the Camry Hybrid did catch my eye. When I said that his face light up. He said I have something to show you. We went to the back of the dealership and there is was, my future car. It was a 2011 Camry Hybrid. It was a dream come true. From the color, black on black, to the alloy rims, sunroof and navigation. It had every bell and whistle I could ask for. Ok so here comes the headache, the negotiations. First what were they going to give me for my truck and the final price I would have to pay for the Camry? Nick and one of his coworkers go outside to appraise my truck. I told my wife a number I wanted and they were only $500 off, I was getting happy. We talked numbers on the Camry and may I say it is very exciting being able to fill up for less then 40 bucks and it last me over 500mi. All my thanks goes out to Nick, if not for you I might still have a gas eating truck. more

Thank you 3/2/2011

Dave found the truck I was looking for. I stopped by to look at on the lot, fit my purposes, but didn’t care for the higher mileage. Dave went above and beyond to find me a truck that met more than my needs/requirements. I never felt pressure to buy. Everyone at Power Toyota were nice and I never looked at them with the salesman guy reputation. I was also given options on payments and could even take the paperwork home to help in my decision. I love my new truck. more

thank you 2/28/2011

Helpful and friendly attitude. My circumstance was difficult and everyone bent over backwards to help. That’s a rare thing; they were exceptional even when I did not exactly know what the process was they made sure they figured it out. It was not your typical dealership experience. They were above and beyond what I expected. Thank you for your time and effort! more

Great service 2/23/2011

Louise Evans did a good job listening to our needs promptly providing helpful information to inform me with. With her help I was able to quickly come to a buying decision. I especially appreciate her honest, no nonsense way of communicating true facts and her helpfulness. Louise made the car buying experience easy and pleasant. I would definitely consider referring my friends and family to Cerritos Toyota because Louise was a great sales person and gave great service. Thank you Louise and Cerritos Toyota! more

Unlike Most 2/15/2011

Good: I loved the attention I got from staff. Bad: location to far from my house. Other: Chris Johnson and Nik were awesome. They were so responsive and helpful with every e-mail before we came in. Chris was fantastic thru pick out the car and test driving. Very knowledgeable and honest. Chris made us comfortable and at ease, assuring every question. Thru the finance process Nik checked on us and let us know all was great. They were fantastic. So unlike any other dealership or car salesman.. more

NOT FAKE!!!! 2/3/2011

Everyone was polite and nice. NOT FAKE!! That is very important. They were willing to negotiate a deal quickly. Best of all they did not pressure me at all during any period. Weng was especially polite and that is what kept me calm and from getting nervous. He only spoke when I asked he questions he seemed relaxed and it kept me relaxed. I got exactly what I wanted and I hope they did to. more

Decent shopping experience 3/16/2006

The reason I stopped by at Toyota was to look for a car that I may buy in the nearby future, but not now. I'm not great with cars, so I don't remember car names. But I was definately intrigued at a few of their cars and vans. What sucked was the darn sales person. He came up to me to ask me how I was doing and what not, and what kind of car I was looking for. I told him I was just browsing, but he kept insisting to continue on with the conversation. He would say, there's plenty of cars out here to fit the type I wanted, and so on and so on. After a few minutes and understanding my hint that I didn't want to talk with him, he left. I was able to walk around the lot from myself on without any other talking. The prices on most cars looked expensive, but I'm guessing that they would be lowered as I would be able to negotiate with the dealer if I was actually buying. Whats good about this Toyota is that it is located in the Cerritos Auto Square, where many other car dealers are held. Unfortunetly, I didn't buy a car this time, but I was definately intrigued. more

Buying a car here is okay, not the best. 8/6/2005

Felt a little bit of pressure of them wanting us to buy a car and not wanting to negotiate. Didn't like that. Person was civil enough. Really upset about how I ended up getting a warranty and with a deductible. They didn't even tell us that upfront. Otherwise, forget it! That's what irks me. Didn't want it in the first place, but that's how they work. If they gave me no deductible, then I might of felt better about buying an extended warranty. I know that's how they get more money out of you, etc. I kept saying no to the warranty, but . . . I lost. At least made every effort to look for the specific car we were trying to find. It was a new model year that had just come out. So, of course they didn't have too many in stock yet. Got lucky and a car just arrived having exactly what we wanted. Took a test drive and they were patient about that considering we had more than one driver. Okay, just didn't like the whole sales and negotiating thing. Plus, not catching that deductible thing! That still bothers me. I would have liked to of been given the chance to negotiate that or at least reject the warranty some more because of that. Service is okay. It's actually a headache driving over there sometimes because of traffic, but they were one of the fews that had several dealerships all within one another. Pretty much right next to each other. Oh, found out later that I had a missing air tire cap on my "supposed" new car that had just rolled into the lot. It had 11 miles on it when I left with it! Told them about the missing item, but they said to just ask for it when you come back down or to go down there. Why couldn't they just send one??? I wasn't going to drive all the way down there just to get that. Felt kind of ripped off, but I think that's for just about anyone when buying a car from a dealership. I have to say though, it's probably not a good place to go if you just want info and to browse around along with checking out the cars. Only one other place I went to let me do that without hassling me. They were willing to show and tell me everything without me feeling as if I had to buy! That was somewhere in Alhambra. more
