Our experience at Bar Veloce was wonderful. The bartender was not arrogant, in fact, quite helpful. We wouldn't categorize him as a 'sommelier,' because that word alone sounds pretentious. We're in the restaurant industry and like to visit a place where no one knows us, so if the bartender wants obnoxious customers to leave, we really don't blame him. My friends and I were more than delighted to see 'coat hooks' to hang our purses and belongings on. And the bartender didn't "neglect" to give us toothpicks because this place just doesn't have them. There's something unappealing about toothpicks in general. We loved the food and choices of wines on the menu. Most of all, being in the company of appreciative people was rewarding.
