Okay, so the title maybe should read ""The deliciousness formerly known as Café Intermezzo."" Now called Café Mattina, one naturally must ask why a place worthy of the Good Grub ...

This place is only good for students on a budget. Other than that, the quality is not that great. The place is kinda dirty and the salads are always too much food and soggy. The s...

huge salads 3/16/2006

I really enjoy getting salads from Intermezzo, because they're huge and they have tons of stuff in them. I usually get one for lunch, split it in half and eat the second portion for dinner. Just don't ever go during peak hours like noon or 6pm, otherwise you're going to be in line so long that you're going to be hungry enough to finish off the salad in one sitting. Seating is limited, but they have a really nice ambiance. Sandwiches are great too. It's a shame they got rid of their french onion soup. Definately try their poppy seed dressing (as long as you don't have a drug test coming up). more

Yum 9/30/2005

At first it's god, but if your like me and you go to a place alot, it gets quite drab. Theres not alot of selection of food here and even though the sandwiches are ok, theres not alot of selection. I dont think i'd recomend it if it's somewher you want to go alot. The selection is very limited and that brings down the overall score of the cafe. more

Cafe Intermezzo has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I'm not the only one who agrees. The sandwiches are made with thick hearty bread, and no matter which sandwich you get, it'll be delicious. The salads are great too. Cafe Intermezzo is always packed. It's a very popular place, and cute too. It's a very cozy environment. I highly recommend Cafe Intermezzo for lunch or dinner date with friends. more

I dream about this place! 8/9/2005

Imagine thick sliced of home made honey wheat bread with anything from spicy tofu steaks to hummus or gigantic amazing salads all for a great college lifestyle price, and then you get intermezzo. Yes the line is out the door, and yes, it is worth waiting. A lot of bitter college kids talk some trash about his place but it's really really delicious. more

Best Sandwich 8/5/2005

When you go to Cafe Intermezzo, make sure to take cash. While in line, sneak a peek at what other people are eating. Choose anything, but the combo (half soup, sandwich, and/or salad) is your best bet, and less than $6. Maybe you should get it to go; the salad portions are more than generous. I strongly recommend the chicken salad sandwich and mixed green salad with poppy-seed dressing. Honestly, everything is excellent and will tempt the pickiest of fast-food diners. Perhaps the greatest thing about Intermezzo is that after eating more food than you thought you could consume, you still don't have that greasy feeling as if you ate the same amount of pizza or Chinese food. more
