I didn't even get to make an order, the gentleman who answered the phone was VERY put out that I even called. I was not sure what I needed, and he got very snarky. There have to be better places in the area. more

I was fortunate to engage Greenwaldcatering for my kiddish this past Shabbos ( 1/4/2014). They did an exceptional job with plenty of food that was not only presented beautifully but also tasted great. I would not hesitate to use them again as well as recommending them to anyone who wants a beautiful party. Greenwald catered a party in my home this weekend. Manny, the catering manager, was a pleasure on the phone--he gave me all the items I wanted on the menu, made great suggestions, and always took my calls. He was flexible and accommodating. The waiters arrived promptly, in plenty of time to set up a beautiful buffet. They were helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and plentiful. The potatoes were delicious, the chicken and beef were moist and tasty, salads fresh, guacamole and babaganoush exquisite. Unfortunately the cake, while beautifully decorated, was dry and lacked flavor. The cookies were also disappointing. I'm not sure if the timing was an issue on the baked goods, since our affair followed the day after a consecutive Yom Tov and Shabbos. But the fruit was sweet and ripe. The price was reasonable considering the excellent service and high food quality. The party was a success and the food was a big part of that. This is our second time working with Greenwald, and we would definitely use them again. more

I recently made an Aufruf in Staten Island catered by Greenwald. The food was very good tasting and it was presented elegantly. The soup and cholent were hot, the cold foods were cold, and all in all I was proud to have the mechutan there, which was a great relief because this might have been, for him, a steep descent from the heights of elegance he is used to. The wait-staff was professional and imperturbable, (especially Christine,) which was an important element with all the children, large and small, running underfoot. more

Greenwald caterers offer an extraordinary option in the kosher catering world, cheap external catering that is nice. They charge a decent price, and are willing to drive nearly anywhere within two hours of their home base. They have decent chefs and while the food isn’t exactly made from Paris chef’s it tastes its’ money worth. more
