I have shopped here for well over two decades. The store itself has some very nice items. I shop here because I really like the deli department. However, the deli department has really gone downhill and fast. When Lucy headed the deli department the service was lovely. The service people behind the counter have been there a long time specifically Alida and Ben. As of late, I have received terrible service from Alida. She is one of the people who has been there for quite some time. She has become belligerent and really rude. On 12/29/22 she gave me Columbus salami when I clearly directed her to give me Molinari (she charged me Molinari price). In the past, she has served me no less than 100 times, over the years. I am very specific when I tell her what I want. For example, on 2/2/23, I ask that the salami be layed out flat and separated with the plastic by layer. In the past this did not have to be requested as this was the way everyone in the deli did it. They used to show you the first piece sliced, now you have to request to see it. When I got home, I had a stack of salami, not even an attempt to follow the direction. The newer people like Cooper give really great service. Funny how the newer people get it right, but veteran Alida cannot which leads me to believe it's intentional poor service. There is also another veteran counter person named Ben who actually leaves the counter when he sees me coming and shuffles off to act like he's going to make sandwiches, because he doesn't want to slice a half pound of salami. Piazza's deli department needs to take a serious look at these veterans because they are costing Piazza business. I used to shop here once a week and now my trips are becoming less and less frequent. One of the reasons I used to shop here was the service factor which is now becoming almost non-existent.
