My son has an astigmatism in his left eye. It was found when they were doing the evaluation for head start. The insurance company said to take the referral from headstart and have him see these guys since he was too little for an optomitrist. so I call this office and the lady was real catty saying that was incorrect he needed a referral from an optomitrist. I explained he was 4. They said his pcp needs to fax it over, then I call, they check it was faxed, then we can make the appt. I called his pcp and they did that. I called back and was told what office did they fax it too? I said the fax # you gave me, they said well we make appt for 9 different offices and each on has their own fax info. I said the one on dobson. She blind transferred me to someone who had no idea who I was and just told me, the insurance won't cover astigmatism so they need to put a different diagnosis on there. They told me this without even checking for the referral. I asked if they could verify what was put on the referral before I get sent running in circles again. It's just frustrating that the insurance tells me onething and these people tell me something else. The insurance already told me it would cover a routine eye exam done in a specialists office since he's too young to see a regular optomitrist.Then they put me on hold forever said they didn't have it. I said his pcp said they faxed it this afternoon. Before I could ask for the fax # they put me on hold again. Then said they had it. Then transferred me back to the first lady I originally spoke with who said since he wasn't registerd they couldn't make the appt since they couldn't see if the referral was in. Then I was put on 4 long holds while I was register for the appt.
