I have been to the broadway location 4 times, the first three were ok, the stylists did as I asked and they did OK, not masters of their trade, but not bad. Had to contact managme...

great haircut great staff 10/9/2009

My boyfriend has been going to the floyds on broadway for years. He always has a great cut. Loves going in every 2 weeks for the hot towels durring the shampoo and the massage at the end of the cut. The staff is always so nice and so friendly and I love how cool the place is. Last weekend I decided to get my hair cut there while I was waiting for him. I was amazed at the quality of the cut and how inexpensive! I love this place and will be back soon for a haircut and my roots retouched. What a great place! I'm reccomending it to everyone I know. more

Not a barbershop 7/21/2009

It LOOKED like a barbershop. However, getting my haircut by a girl on her period (or just always cold/unpleasant?) was something I would have expected from a salon. plus, her experience must have been cutting the hair of 12-year-olds, not men -- bangs straight across and everything. Really, be careful walking in the doors of this place unless you know a specific person that will for sure give you a good cut. I learned the hard way that you can't trust this place to have good barbers. more

Floyd's on Colfax - no. 2/5/2007

This barber shop advertises women's haircuts and styles. Their interpretation of these terms must be very loose indeed. I always saw hip people working at the Champa St. location. I made an appointment with the location closer to my house. In an attempt to make things easier for the stylist, I brought along a picture of a cut I desired. Apparently the cut and style was too difficult for the seemingly inept "stylist" to handle. I thought it would have required nothing more than removing some length and shortening the layers, but what do I know. After finishing the bare minimum amount of work, she asked me what I thought of the cut while my hair was still soaking wet! Maybe she thought I walked around like that all the time. This was the first time in my life a stylist has ever done that. Didn't even offer a blow dry; maybe she assumed I couldn't afford the extra cost for one. Besides being rather inhospitable, the stylist had the gall to charge me $27.00, since layered cuts are listed as costing "$22.00 and up". Not a bad price had she not been unskilled, or merely just lazy, wishing instead to have an easier male customer. Summary: if your a guy, it's probably an okay place, it does have a fun atmosphere. But if you want your hair to actually look good, cut by someone with competent communication and haircutting skills, by all means go somewhere else. more

A Great Haircut in Denver 4/13/2006

Floyd's succeeds in all aspects. They make your haircut experience a little better than a place like Great Clips. All of the people that work there are "cool". They have posters and tvs in the shop which makes for a more entertaining stay. I also think that the haircuts are of a higher quality than those of the other salons in Denver. more

Floyd's 4/10/2006

Floyd's is all about the ambience. They are catering to the rocker crowd -- posters on the wall, several TVs in view, rock music blaring, and a mostly male clientele. Their haircuts are perfectly fine and serviceable, if you happen to pick the right operator. Haircuts are all about the skill of the individual, in my experience -- it has little to do with what salon they work for. I had a great haircut at Floyd's at my first visit, then a couple months later, I had one that was not quite as good. Still, I would not hesitate to return to Floyd's. No appointment is necessary, and both times I went, my wait was not long. The quick shoulder massage they offer at the end of your haircut is a pleasant bonus. more

mixed results 9/21/2005

Occasionally, I'll go the cheap route and get a trim at a chain salon. The first time I tried Floyd's, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was a little more hip than the usual chain, and I got a great haircut. I asked for the same person on my second visit, and again I was very pleased. Unfortunately, she was gone by my third (and last) visit, and I got a horrible haircut from some beauty school drop out. more

Good but be careful 8/11/2005

My husband loved this place for a while and he did get great cuts for a decent price without the hassle of an appointment. And then came the day when he came home looking like someone had used a flo-bee on his head. We had to go to my stylist to get it fixed. So while this may be a cool place with great ambience be careful with what stylist you get. more

Yes, a woman who went to a barbershop! 8/2/2005

Floyds is fantastic! This is a cool, hip barbershop fit for men, women and children! It has a fun atmosphere, great prices and the stylists are just as good with women's hair as they are with a crew cut. The old stereotype of a barbershop is blown out of the water with Floyds. I didn't see and old men with all of their chess buddies there while I was getting my hair cut. Everyone should give them a chance. They actually just opened a new store in Highlands Ranch! more
