good massage 10/7/2005

I came here with one of my clients and they liked it. From the other places I've been to, this place is more individualized because the place is smaller than most salons. They give an excellent shiatsu massage, that I'd definitely recommend. Prices were a bit expensive, but definitely worth it. more

not the right person to ask 8/16/2005

I’m hesitant about writing this review because I’m not the right person to ask. I used to go here for waxing. I was never happy with the service. I always felt uncomfortable in the downstairs rooms. But I’ve never tried any of the other services, and they’re supposed to be quite good for hair. Also, frankly, I think I was always the only girl in there (it is Christopher Street, for pete's sake). So try it if you're a guy and see what other people have to say. more

jose is great 5/24/2005

it took many tries at other salons before i finally found jose. i have curly hair, which is apparantly hard to cut and more expensive (go figure). i like jose as he takes the time to chat and really listen to what i want -- but also suggests great things to try. i always get compliments on my hair. the beach has also expanded its day spa offerings if you want to get massages, facials, etc -- and the prices are very reasonable for the level of service you get. more

  • In Short
A lone wicker couch reminds patrons of this spa's seaside theme, but it's a mere spec of sand in an otherwise urban space punctuated by a row of bright red salon chairs. Though the salon occupies the storefront, behind it lies a bi-level spa complete with a pedicure alcove and private treatment rooms. Services cover the basics from massage, skincare, waxing and nails to makeup and sunless tanning for men and women.
