Where to go when you want to surf 8/19/2005

Checka Looka is everything you want a local surf shop to be. The guy who runs the place is super nice, overflowing with enthusiasm about surfing. This is a good place to rent boards and wetsuits for your first time surfing as their rates are some of the best in town, and much cheaper than out on the coast. The shop has a decent array of boards for sale, as well as some used short boards. They sell wetsuits and rash guards, along with the usual apparel. Overall a great shop with none of the usual attitude. more

It is the only surf shop I will shop at. Not only is it great for shopping but hanging out with the owner, Jeff, is always fun and interesting. They fix boards, sell great gear and are always honest as to what kinf of board they think might be the best fit for you. I am still in love with my 7'2" Hammer. more

Travel Advisors Too 11/14/2004

These guys know what they are talking about. I went to Sayulita Mexico on their advice and had the best vacation imaginable. Perfect surf, nothing but sun, and the town is so small it doesn't even have an atm. more

Cheka-Looka is a surfers shop in a town without waves to surf (unless they are behind a Super-Air Nauti o'course) and they have exactly what you want: A good selction of boards/wetsuites and accessories, great customer service and a nice selection of vids. Check-em out... more
