The Louisville Palace is located on 4th Street in downtown Louisville. It used to be the United Artist Theatre when it opened in the 1920's at a cost of 2 million dollars. When you first see the theatre from the outside, it doesn't seem very impressive. Once inside however, it takes your breath away. It is decorated in the Spanish baroque style with bold colors, plater busts and vaulted ornate ceilings. The Palace has both concert and theatre events throughout the year and still shows movies at certain times. This facility can also be rented for special events. It is worth admission price to an event just to check out the decor.
