When I think of Louisville, KY I don't think fine art. So I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the Speed Museum.
They have quite a nice collection which I think can be appreciated by people of pretty much all tastes. Mixed in with the traditional and modern art, you will find local and regional artists, as well as the special exhibits that the museum hosts.
This museums biggest drawback is that it is not located downtown near many of the other museums and attractions, so it is a bit of work getting there. But it was definitely worth the extra time that it took.
And best of all, for those who cannot afford it, admission is free. Though a $4 donation is recommended.
