Best

The Best Toy Store in San Francisco. We always shop at Ambassador Toys for our Grand Children, because they always have good interactive toys for any age. MLI

Worst

Their prices are always a little on the higher side. Yes, they give free giftwrapping, but their prices are still a little too expensive.

Great selection! 7/17/2006

This is a really nice, large, well stocked toy store. It is a nice option for a non-chain store. They have lots of different types of toys and some really nice educational products. I love just window shopping whenever I'm in West Portal. more

Toys 4/17/2006

This toy store located on West Portal is jam packed with all kinds of creative toys. The store is sectioned into different areas, for different kinds of toys. They also have a variey of dolls that are from separate parts of the world. I find that very nice for people that want to have a doll from "their own culture". Its really nice. Their prices are somewhat on the expensive side, but it is a stand alone toy store competing with chain stores. I think its great to have a self owned business doing so well. More power to them. more

ambassador toys 12/29/2005

this is a small toy store that is a little on the pricey side but it is very good. it has all the small and big toys a kid may want and is perfect for gifts to children. it always has many customers in it because it has toys for kids of all ages. more

A fun, friendly independent toy store 12/2/2005

If you are in need a a toy, this is the place to go. They have all kinds of great, creative and interesting items. Plus the staff is always friendly and helpful. I think they also offer free gift wrapping. I always go to the one in West Portal, but they also have a location in the Embarcadero. more

a great store for children 11/15/2005

This store is located on the second block of west portal. the parking is somewhat hard to find, but, if you look long enough, you're likely to find a space. This toy store has so many different toys from around the world like dolls, trains, globes, books, and even carpets. i took my cousin to this store to buy something and she did not know what to pick because she liked everything in the store. this toy store has great merchandise, however, it is somewhat pricey. more

A HEAVEN TO CHILDREN 10/21/2005

This is a great store on the second block of West Portal. They have so many toys that you would not be able to find anywhere else. They have toys from different ethnicities and they also have toys that children can learn from. This is an excellent place to shop for children. Even though it is a little expensive, the toys are worth it. more

Ambassador Toys 10/11/2005

I really don't see the big deal of this toy store. Yes they do offer toys from all around the world. the store is packed with interesting gifts that you cannot find anywhere. And tehy have a glow in the dark section in the back of the store. However, I did not find the quality of their items to be worth the price. Everything breaks so quickly even though you pay like 10 dollars for a glow in the dark item. And the customer service was not so great. more

If you need to shop for toys and don't want to be bothered going to the mall, check out this place. The store is normally stocked with up to date toys. Often times, you can find unique items not sold at the department stores. This store has a large array of stuffed animals too. Parking is somewhat a hassle. Staff is very knowledgeable. Prices are competitive. more

Nice store 7/27/2005

As you walk in this toy store, you are bombarded with all types of toys from all around the world. That in itself is very cool. Every corner has a knick knac. In the back of the store, they have a cool glow in the dark area for all toys that have to deal with planets, stars, and space. It great learning for children. What I did not like about this store is that it is very very pricy. I really liked some of items for sale, but I could not afford to buy all of them. And they hardly ever have sales. But if you are willing to spend alot, the toys really are nice more
