Got real help with vision & learning 5/10/2011

A HUGE thanks to Dr. B! My son saw Dr. Baxstrom several years ago after a practitioner at the Children's Unit at Good Sam. Hosp. in Puyallup recommended Dr. Baxstrom for his cutting edge knowledge & techniques. Though an MD had declared my son's lazy eye was no longer an issue, Dr. B found it was still a demonstrable problem, causing double vision & eye-tracking problems - which did a lot to explain much of my son's reading & learning difficulties. Dr. B gave us exercises & home techniques that addressed his eye problems & some others that stimulated learning. The tools and exercises were simple and either free or of negligible expense. Some techniques might sound a bit out-there, but are based on research. Bottom line: everything he recommended helped a lot, the results were measurable at school, & it gave my son encouragement. MDs and a neuropsychologist had diagnosed problems, but we got more actual, practical help from Dr. Baxstrom, both vision and learning-related, than we'd ever found anywhere. I can't recommend Dr. B highly enough. more

Balance Problem 10/18/2010

Other: I was referred to Dr. Baxstrom because he is a specialist with the balance problem I got from being rear-ended at 30 mph while operating a motorcycle. Dr. Baxstrom is rare in this area and frequently has amazed- looking students shadowing him. I think his work is astutue, creative, reflective, caring. His mind works faster than most people can keep up. I am glad to have found him but wish my balance problem would go away.. more

Eye specialist 7/26/2005

My daughter visited with Dr. Curtis Baxstrom many times due to her lazy eye. He was very friendly and my daughter looked forward to her every visit with him. He sent eye exercises home for her to work on and though progress was slow, we still saw some change. Unfortunately, he doesn't accept all insurance and my daughter had to stop visiting when our insurance company changed. more
