H&R is the only real hobby shop I know of in the area. So in that sense, if you want something hobby-related in a hurry, it's the place to go. But as the name suggests the emphasis is on trains. They have supplies for other hobbies like cars, planes, and rockets, but the store is not particularly large so if you want something out of the ordinary you may be out of luck.
I find that one of the things that really makes a great hobby shop is a friendly and knowledgeable staff. And although the guys at H&R do seem to know what they're doing, they are something less than friendly. That's why I usually buy my hobby products online if I can help it, and save my trips to the store for emergencies.
