Old City Park 3/28/2006

A fun and relaxing place to visit. Espcially nice at Christmas time. Lots to see and just a nice place to visit with the family. Relive the ole times in this park with housing, dress and the village type setting. A one of a kind entertainment spot and something for all ages to be found here. Schools take advantage of this park for school trips also. more

Old City Park & HIstorical Village 8/26/2005

When you visit Old City Park & Historical Village you go back in time from 1840 to 1910 in North Texas. I have visited here with my family many times and we have always enjoyed it. There are Victorian homes, a church, bank and more. I highly recommend this great museum. more

For real fun go at Christmas 8/17/2005

Old City Park has a number of historical buildings that you can go through. They have a school, church, bank, newspaper office, blacksmith, farm (live animals), hotel and several homes. At Christmas they have special events including live music with various groups from the DFW area. You can even arrange to eat a meal in one of the homes with your family and group. Some of the homes are quite beautiful and have been restored to their period. There are many skilled craftspeople who you can watch as they make their wares such as the blacksmith and the potter. They also offer horse-drawn wagon rides. Parking is off-site with a bus to transport people back and forth. In my opinion Old City Park is one of the hidden gems of Dallas. more

Old City Park is a living-history museum portraying life in North Texas from 1840 to 1910. Composed of 38 historic structures, the main draws are a working Civil War-era farm, a traditional Jewish household and several elegant Victorian homes. The park's mission is to preserve significant Dallas and North Dallas structures and artifacts. A school, church and other commercial buildings are also on the grounds. The entire collection is comprised of more than 25,000 artifacts. more
