The Scene Once upon a time, the Eden Roc used to rock, a swell place to hang for the likes of Jackie Gleason and Humphrey Bogart. If you can actually remember Gleason and Bogart you'll probably appreciate the $24 million spent buffing it and its upscale restaurant, harry's grille, up to their former luster. Otherwise, the hotel and restaurant will seem handsome if rather staid amidst the glitz and glitter of South Beach. The Food Where to begin? Dried-out bread, wilted Caesar salad, tasteless "salsa" of corn and undercooked black beans with otherwise well-fried softshell crabs, strangely jelly-like creme brulee and chocolate truffle centered vanilla ice cream with no chocolate truffle center. The kitchen did get off a good pan-seared tilapia with lobster-potato hash and tender if heavily breaded rack of lamb, but this kind of sloppy execution went out with The Honeymooners. Try it again, Sam.
